nine degrees north: December 2011
http://kristinkuhn.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 5, 2011. The Week in Pictures. Staving off jet lag at the pool. On the mangrove islet. Ryan on the bow. Coca Cola break in Dauis. Teasing the giant clams. Itty bitty jelly and its tinier pet goldfish. Mama into the light. The deadly but docile banded sea krait. A final trike ride. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The opinions expressed in this blog are mine alone and do not reflect the position of the U.S. Government or Peace Corps. View my complete profile. Elliot Jenko - flickr.

Thursday, October 20, 2011. Not to toot my own horn, but. click here. Me and Tiffany at the glider port, 2008. Saturday, October 15, 2011. The last two weeks, in pictures. Yesterday, at Mag-Aso Falls. This is the jungle. It's good in the 'hood. It's still good in the 'hood. Onward. Or rather backwards, because this is a blog so we are traveling back in time. Last Monday I received two immense care packages in the mail on the very same day from the two LLLs. Oh, and real tomato ketchup. A few days earlier...
nine degrees north: November 2011
http://kristinkuhn.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 21, 2011. MST has come and gone, and I'm back home in Clarin listening to a cacophony of throaty calls coming from the rooster farm next door. Gone only a week, yet all my house spiders took to opportunity to spin themselves giant new webs that stretch across each room exactly at head level, which I've been accidentally tearing down, face first, since I arrived. It's like Halloween come three weeks late. Protesters cried out emphatically about beard rights. In our Peace Corps service.

Monday, January 30, 2012. I certainly wouldn't mind having a print of this to hang in my home someday! Http:/ teammanilalifestyle.com/news/index.php? Thursday, January 19, 2012. Howdy friends, loved ones, random others who stumbled here from "Peace Corps Journals". The world is a crazy place, and in this line of work, things seem even less predictable than usual. This week I had the good fortune to mix things up a bit and work on my second annual (wow - how long have we been here again? And click the lin...
nine degrees north: Shake up.
http://kristinkuhn.blogspot.com/2012/02/shake-up.html
Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Another shake up came, this time in my living situation, when I used my MIND to get some serious home improvements under way. Really. Okay not really, but I do almost want to take credit for this. I have several visitors passing through this spring (yay! Then, unbelievably, I came home from work one day to find several boxes of pure white flooring tiles on my front porch. What the what. Probably not. But it was. A big deal to me. I did. Contemplate writing a whole post about it...
nine degrees north: April 2011
http://kristinkuhn.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 21, 2011. Last weekend, the Boholano-Americans took a little trip to the coastal community of Maribojoc to see where Todd works and visit the nearby town of Antequera and the waterfalls for which it is know. Mag-aso", in Cebuano, means "like smoke". The mist rising from the falls is what gives them their smokey name, and they are a great spot for picnicking, swimming, cliff jumping, and spying tiny native frogs. Killing time waiting for a ride. Rice fields in Antequera. The road to Mag-Aso.

Monday, February 28, 2011. Around the house - February 28, 2011. My wall. Look closely and you may see yourself. Oh my oh my. This is where I try to shower. Hanging out with one of my roommates. Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Friday, February 18, 2011. Faces of Rabies Day. A couple days ago I accompanied my counterpart Bebie, Lila's Agriculture Technologist, out on her visit to the barangay La Fortura to administer rabies vaccinations to its furry residents. Thursday, February 17, 2011. A typical Philippi...

Let’s Get Cooking! My obsessions-Italy and Cooking. June 5, 2016. After looking at my my last post I realized that you didn’t get to see the beauty of the bowl that I was using. Over the past few years I’ve received as gifts a variety of colorful pottery pieces made by the talented Walker Davis. These bowls were the latest addition to my collection and I couldn’t be happier! Walker calls them soup bowls, but they have become my go to pasta bowl. Aren’t the backs lovely too? June 1, 2016. 1 teaspoons chop...
