Musings of a Canadian in Far- Away Lands. Patriotism…. →. Hi, Remember me? September 14, 2014. I have been definitely incommunicado for a long time. Life takes twists and turns that one does not expect. Even if you somewhat expect the new direction, the daily living out of the change can be overwhelming. We have wandered again…………. And are now back in Canada. We arrived in Calgary September 2, after traveling three quarters of the way around the world. We loved through three days of unseasonable snow here.

So much has happened here, and while I keep thinking about writing, and am alway taking photos with this in mind, the fingers have not been connecting to the blog writing. I guess that now is the best time to begin, so here goes. I did finish a table topper that was only 2 years old, which just needed quilting.

I came, I saw, I wandered. Sunday, June 14, 2009. Congrats Angela and Ali! I went to my friends' wedding yesterday. They are expats; Angela is British and Ali is from Cote d'Ivoire/Burkina Faso. The wedding was a very simple, short ceremony at a city hall type place, followed by a short reception in a friend's nearby garden, and then a picnic on the beach. Friday, June 12, 2009. I’m not sure what my feelings are or should be…but I reflect. 30 years on, much has happened, much has changed. A fleeting memory is all that remains. It’s pretty much all that some of us had.
