Tuesday, August 12, 2008. By land and by river II. At Adel's, on a creek off of the Pomeroon River, where we were the only 2 guests staying at this odd little place. Long story. Highlight: we had 2 tarantulas living with us in our bedroom. Yes, and they were huge and creepy! Have I mentioned that this is a country with pirates. Tuesday, August 12, 2008. By land and by river. Boat ride from Charity to Adel's, where we stayed. Just off a creek which is off of the Pomeroon River- in Essequibo. This is the way you travel around these parts, by boat. Homes were off of the waterways and people travel by little canoes, or speed boat, anywhere they need to go. It was so interesting to see. Waiting to leave Charity and head to a little lodge-type place we stayed for 2 nights, it is on a creek, off a river. Only accessible by boat.
