http://austrianwoman.blogspot.com/2015/03/catching-up.html
The Austrian Woman on Facebook. A Shimmer From the Deep. Happiness Is A Warm Ray Gun. Wednesday, March 25, 2015. It's been a while, once again, since the last entry here and seems to be a habit of mine. Especially as I go about gathering up materials and supplies for Dragon Con costuming. Here are a few shots from way back in January, taken at the Twelfth Night Ball. This is the ice blue ball gown. A surprise photo with Anders, Photo: Laurie Tavan. Still, I wish I had a good shot of the bodice front....

The Austrian Woman on Facebook. A Shimmer From the Deep. Happiness Is A Warm Ray Gun. Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Holiday At The Villa; Empress Elisabeth In Velvet And Mink. My reproduction of Empress Elisabeth of Austria's velvet and mink ensemble. Is complete, and now I have some glorious photos to share. I had also just gotten over the flu, so it was nice to get outside for some fresh air and a walk. The hat is a bit different than hers. I decided that since I did not have the time or the materi...

http://austrianwoman.blogspot.com/2014/11/1830s-shoes-modern-option-to-modify.html
The Austrian Woman on Facebook. A Shimmer From the Deep. Happiness Is A Warm Ray Gun. Friday, November 14, 2014. 1830s Plans: Shoes, Bonnets And Dresses. This year, I made the decision to bow out of participating in the Annual Dickens Christmas Fair. But (there is always a 'but'), I will still be making a new dress and bonnet to wear to Dickens. My friend Laura and I will also be revisiting Dickens Fair sewing plans that have been on the back burner for over a year now; 1830s dresses! I want something fo...

The Austrian Woman on Facebook. A Shimmer From the Deep. Happiness Is A Warm Ray Gun. Friday, May 29, 2015. Just checking in here since it's been a while. I wish I had more to share but life got busy, as it does. With that said, I am once again ramping up for DragonCon 2015 in September, and the costuming frenzy is nearing a fever pitch. At Big Wow; I'm the Doctor's 'Galactic' mechanic. Big Wow was also a lot of fun, and promises to be even bigger next year. At BayCon; with Anders in our Judge Dredd gear.

The Austrian Woman on Facebook. A Shimmer From the Deep. Happiness Is A Warm Ray Gun. Monday, February 2, 2015. Quick, Before It Melts! The Frozen Photo Shoot: Part I. Two weeks ago I finally had the chance to do a proper photo shoot in my Elsa gown. With my "Anna",. Anna loves her new flannel petticoat, but do I really need these boots? The Austrian Woman on Facebook. A Shimmer From the Deep. Happiness Is A Warm Ray Gun. Monday, August 25, 2014. The Final Update Before Dragon Con. Dear readers, this is it for entries until after Dragon Con. It's just a few days away and I still have a lot of finishing touches to complete on both the Lagertha battledress and Elsa's gown. However, I do have a couple of images to share as a teaser, and plenty of photos of the final products to share after the madness of con is over. Edited to add: Unfortun...

The Austrian Woman: A Few More Photos...
http://austrianwoman.blogspot.com/2013/12/a-few-more-photos.html
The Austrian Woman on Facebook. A Shimmer From the Deep. Happiness Is A Warm Ray Gun. Monday, December 30, 2013. A Few More Photos. Slowly cleaning up the mess left after the Dickens Fair madness. My sewing area looks as though a bomb hit it, as it does every year at this time. The plan is to start on the 18th century projects again, before some other event rears its ugly head, and requires a new rushed costume. I still can't get over the fact that this is just 15 minutes from our front door. Viking, mer...
