Taylor Family Tidbits: September 2009
http://jerryandashleytaylor.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 14, 2009. A couple of weeks ago Sarah and I traveled to upstate New York with my mom and grandma for the 100th birthday of my great grandma Cockram! We had so much fun visiting with her, with my other great grandma Florence Gillett, and meeting so many wonderful relatives! Sarah met so many grandmas and aunties that she's started applying those titles to anyone who looks like they might fit the bill! In Grandma Louise's apartment- 100 years old and she still has her own place! Calling Y...

Calling Your Name Taylor: October 2014
http://callingyournametaylor.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Calling Your Name Taylor. Saturday, October 4, 2014. Cute Things Kids Say. I will forget if I don't write them down so. The other day Joe says out of the blue, "Mom, when is Grandpa Ed going to come back to life? I really miss him! So sweet. I love that my boys got to know their Grandpa Ed while we lived with them. Also, we explained that we don't know when exactly we'll be resurrected, so it might be a while. Not sure where that came from. Or when he ever sees Cinderella. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Calling Your Name Taylor: April 2015
http://callingyournametaylor.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Calling Your Name Taylor. Monday, April 13, 2015. Zach had to work Spring Break, but since Joe and Will were both home from school the whole week I decided we should at least do some things a little out of the ordinary. We kicked off by roasting marshmallow Sunday night with Zach. The boys loved the fire, but Max and Will both decided they prefer marshmallows plain rather than toasted. On the way home we stopped in Beaver at the Cache Valley Cheese Factory Outlet. The boys got ice cream (it was good!

Calling Your Name Taylor: First Day of First Grade
http://callingyournametaylor.blogspot.com/2014/08/first-day-of-first-grade.html
Calling Your Name Taylor. Saturday, August 23, 2014. First Day of First Grade. We've really been enjoying Summer at our house. Joe was ready for more structure though. He missed the first day of school because we got to pick Stephanie up from the airport from her mission! I gave him the choice to come with us to pick her up and miss his first day, or go to the first day of school and see her that night and he decided to miss the first day. And then there is this kid who is just too cool for school. He mi...

Lowercase profanity: Sufjan Stevens, you goddamn thief
http://lowercaseprofanity.blogspot.com/2011/07/sufjan-stevens-you-goddamn-thief.html
A sweary—and expertly punctuated—weblog. Monday, July 11, 2011. Sufjan Stevens, you goddamn thief. Here is "Svefn-G-Englar", from Sigur Rós's 1999 album Ágætis byrjun. And here's "Vito's Ordination Song", from Sufjan Steven's 2003 album Greetings from Michigan. It's even in the same key. Sufjan apologists, I dare you to argue that he didn't lift the chord progression, instrumentation, and feel for his song from his Icelandic superiors. I wonder if Sigur Ros realizes. I still love Sufjan though!

Calling Your Name Taylor: July 2013
http://callingyournametaylor.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Calling Your Name Taylor. Sunday, July 28, 2013. The girl sitting next to me kindly accepted to keep an eye on him while I was gone. Although Will's behavior was a far cry from perfect, I felt like it was a blessing in disguise. First, it was an opportunity for me to practice patience. Although I often enjoy those opportunities, I need them. Second, because I took the boys home I was able to fully participate in Relief Society. On the surface it may not seem like it, but today was a good day. Joe loves t...

Lowercase profanity: January 2012
http://lowercaseprofanity.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
A sweary—and expertly punctuated—weblog. Sunday, January 22, 2012. It gets better: Navigating a mixed-faith Mormon marriage. I gave the following talk at a Mormon Stories. Conference yesterday here in Houston. Since I haven't posted anything detailed on how I left Mormonism, I thought that some of you might appreciate reading this. The talk was recorded, and the live version is available here. I’d like to begin with two disclaimers. The turning point came in October 2010. We were sitting in our livin...

Calling Your Name Taylor: March 2013
http://callingyournametaylor.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Calling Your Name Taylor. Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Nikki and Spencer showed us a few places in San Francisco. Not pictured are the two nude. Men we saw strolling down the street (legally). Be happy that wasn't documented. We couldn't meet up without staying up way too late playing games. The boys had a movie night while we played round one. Joe and Will had never seen Despicable Me and they loved it. All cozy for the show. Joe entertaining himself in the restaurant. At the pier in Newport Beach. Just t...
