Watching Life

I am one of those odd people with no serious hobbies. I spend much of my free time simply watching life - at work, riding the bus, or just hanging out in my neighborhood of West Seattle. Sometimes I notice things that busier and more involved people do not see. Monday, March 06, 2006. My Name Is Earl. Of course it's not - but I love the program. I'm something of a list maniac myself. Earl and his friends are just so likeable, and some of the lines are so original. I've filed that one away for future use.

I am one of those odd people with no serious hobbies. I spend much of my free time simply watching life - at work, riding the bus, or just hanging out in my neighborhood of West Seattle. Sometimes I notice things that busier and more involved people do not see. Thursday, September 22, 2005. I fear I am becoming a bad customer. I have had a retail job for around two years now. It is my first such job! I have come up with a few strategies at work. One is that I insist I am not paid to argue with custom...

Sometimes I notice things that busier and more involved people do not see. Friday, November 04, 2005. The View From Brew. Busy in this place this morning. Sounds boring. But I would gladly sit here all day. Instead, I have to run some errands and then go downtown to work. Posted by zanda at 9:14 AM. July 4 at Alki.

Sometimes I notice things that busier and more involved people do not see. Tuesday, May 03, 2005. Julia Roberts on the bus. Not really. But this girl looks rather like her. After she got off, the driver remarked that the look is extremely provocative. "It's really hard not to look," he confessed. My bus is here! The bari...

Catching Ducks: January 2006

http://mamurd.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html

My pride and joy, etc. I've been having issues with my household technology lately. I've had DVD's that won't play, a computer that freezes up under the slightest provocation, and now a TV that's "backfeeding" power, causing my cable (and, since it went through the same wires, my internet) to go out. Maybe I'll look into that Luddite thing. Except that would mean giving up my microwave. Never mind! Posted by mamurd @ 11:30 AM 1 comments. Tales from the World of Retail.

Catching Ducks: November 2005

http://mamurd.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html

My pride and joy, etc. So Last night during one of my dreams there was this lake. And I was told the temperature of the lake was 109 degrees. I was quite freaked. When I had to traverse it, I was very careful not to get any of the water on me (there were dry spots and trees I used to get across). However. I saw other people wading through (apparently it was a shallow. Lake), and they weren't being burned like I expected. When I woke up this morning I figured it out: To me, 109 means 109 Celsius.

My pride and joy, etc. Here in the northern hemisphere, summer is fast approaching. People are all cheerful about the blue skies, lack of rain, and warmer temperatures. Blue skies, no rain, and warm temperatures! I want clouds, and rain, and COLD! If one more person mentions the "nice" weather, I think I'm going to SCREAM. Posted by mamurd @ 6:25 PM 5 comments. My pride and joy, etc. I gotta say: It's awfully nice having someone appreciate my baking. Every time I give Sotosoroto. Some cookies, his face lights up like it's Christmas! Posted by mamurd @ 7:12 PM 3 comments. Normally I adore Craig Ferguson on "The Late Late Show with.", but he really annoyed me the other day. With his first guest he was making fun of Brokeback Mountain. Cracking all sorts of un-funny gay "jokes". His second guest was from the new movie Imagine Me and You.

My pride and joy, etc. My Pettiest Pet Peeve. People who put their headphones in the wrong ears. Yes, I really am that petty and ridiculous. But it drives me crazy! Each earpiece has a little "R" or "L", and when people stick the R in the left ear and and L in right ear. GRRR! It's bad enough when they're seperate earpieces, or the kind that go outside the ear, but the ones the have a headband and go inside the ear. ack! When you put those in the wrong way, it's really, really. And I am just so silly!
