Here at WBR we are fortunate to have over 1100 acres to train on. From open fields, running water, 1-15 acre ponds, this allows us to show the dogs a wide variety of terrain. With no hunting situation being the same, introducing a dog to running water retrieves or open water retrieves has to be taught, in order to teach this you have to have it. With these training grounds for our use, we are able to simulate different hunting scenarios to get your dog ready for opening day and days in between.

Waterbottom Retrievers is a minimum sized kennel and dog training facility located on 57 acres in Ruffin, NC. It is owned and run by trainer Matt James and his wife Rachel James. Having learned the meaning of loyalty from a dog at a very early age, it has always been clear to Matt that we could learn a lot from our dogs as they do from us.
