Watercolor Postcards: DAY 22 AND 23

http://watercolorpostcards.blogspot.com/2013/01/day-22-and-23.html

DAY 22 AND 23. Watercolor 6 x 6 inches. I scanned this last night but really was unhappy with it and too tired to do anything about it, so decided to skip a day of posting. I made some changes (not easy with watercolor) and it looks a bit better. Watercolor 6 x 7 inches. It was a really busy day, but besides fixing yesterdays piece, I painted the bananas and drove to the beach and painted a second piece while sitting in the car. So at last I'm ahead. As bananas ficaram muito bem pintadas! DAY 26 AND 27.

Watercolor Postcards: December 2012

http://watercolorpostcards.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Watercolor, about 6 x 6 inches. Watercolor 6 x 9 inches. I spent longer than usual on this painting than I do on most of what I post here. This is where I've posted my small pieces and sketches. Any thing that take more than about an hour, I put on my other blog. For the first time in a while I've been posting here everyday and to give myself some help in continuing, I signed up for a challenge to do 30 paintings in January on Leslie Saeta's blog. Yes, another view from the studio window this morning.

Watercolor Postcards: August 2012

http://watercolorpostcards.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Considering how many days without rain this summer, I don't feel bad about not getting out and painting much. Here are a few things I've done. On one of my trips to Juneau on the ferry this summer, I painted this while waiting for departure from Juneau Juneau. I've stayed a few times on my Juneau visits with my artist friend Sharron Lobaugh. And this is the view from her front porch in Auk Bay. Sharron and I will be traveling to Spain next month and it will be inspiring to be painting with her there.

http://maryannecaryoils.blogspot.com/2010/05/bouquet.html

Friday, May 7, 2010. 10 x 12 Oil on canvas panel. Email: m cary1@maine.rr.com. This was my first attempt at roses. I thought it would be hard to paint, but I really tried to keep them simplified and I think it worked. I love the simplified approach, although you cannot tell whatsoever that they are simple in any way!

Watercolor exhibit opens on May 7. Two years ago, Juan Carlos Camacho - a well-known watercolor artist in his native San Jose, Costa Rica - visited Georgia, riding motorcycles around rural areas with his host (and art collector) Tom Valdes, who lives at The Georgia Club. Fluke mini-comics and 'zine fest shows small prints still a big deal. Newspapers, magazines and other print media these days are turning their pockets inside out, trying to survive on small change in the age of the Internet.
