A life in juxtaposition: Beyond Dictionary Fundamentalism
http://skepticmystic.blogspot.com/2014/11/beyond-dictionary-fundamentalism.html
A life in juxtaposition. Mysticism, Skepticism, Faith and Reason. Thursday, November 27, 2014. Leaving fundamentalism behind can be a tough process. Getting fundamentalism to stop following your around after you left can be even harder. Apply it to Atheists. Not saying you should change your ideas, you can keep them all. You can be passionate about them, talk about them, discuss them with all who would listen. Just don't lose sight of one simple truth - people matter. It is relationships, not...My Thanks...

A life in juxtaposition: Shut up and listen
http://skepticmystic.blogspot.com/2014/09/shut-up-and-listen.html
A life in juxtaposition. Mysticism, Skepticism, Faith and Reason. Sunday, September 7, 2014. Shut up and listen. Have you heard about those students who came up with the date rape drug detecting nail polish? When I first saw this news making the rounds on social media I thought it was awesome news! Unlike a certain locally invented product. Now my first response to that was to say, "You know what? But then I went to breakfast. That's when it hit me. The truth was that no, I did not actually "get it".

A life in juxtaposition: The Privilege Superpower
http://skepticmystic.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-privilege-superpower.html
A life in juxtaposition. Mysticism, Skepticism, Faith and Reason. Monday, May 12, 2014. Lately the subject of privilege (especially white privilege) has been been generating a lot of discussion. There was the ivy league kid who wrote an essay. On it that went viral which in turn generated a lot. And then some of it is conspiratorial to the point of racism. Would you demand that Superman apologize for being born on Krypton? But say there was this apple orchard that advertised a free apple picking day....

A life in juxtaposition: September 2013

A life in juxtaposition. Mysticism, Skepticism, Faith and Reason. Thursday, September 26, 2013. No one should have to feel this way. This video leaves me heartbroken and sad. Also very very angry. It hurts my insides to listen to this lady's story. No one, and I do mean no one, should ever have to feel the way she felt. Not ever, not under any circumstances. But it does. All the fucking time! I don't have the words for how sad that makes me. Let me count the ways! To be like his. Links to this post.

A life in juxtaposition. Mysticism, Skepticism, Faith and Reason. Sunday, February 2, 2014. The dreaded Friend Zone. I usually really enjoy the videos by Cult of Dusty on youtube but recently he posted this video which really annoyed me for several reasons:. So here is what I wish I could tell my 20 year old self about the dreaded friend zone. Firstly I'll grant Dusty this, he did give one piece of solid advice: Stop being a coward! A nice guy. There is nothing "nice" about pretending to be someone's...

A life in juxtaposition: The Racist Hole
http://skepticmystic.blogspot.com/2014/09/the-racist-hole.html
A life in juxtaposition. Mysticism, Skepticism, Faith and Reason. Thursday, September 11, 2014. So it seems everyone's talking about racism these days. Some are talking about how it's a problem, others are claiming the only problem is that people are still talking about it! OK so maybe now you're thinking "Yay! Another lecture about race! Another white guy is finally online to explain to everyone how racism works! OK so with all that out the way I hope you didn't stick around for the secret of how to be ...

A life in juxtaposition: To Everything there is a Season
http://skepticmystic.blogspot.com/2013/02/to-everything-there-is-season.html
A life in juxtaposition. Mysticism, Skepticism, Faith and Reason. Thursday, February 14, 2013. To Everything there is a Season. I know you will never be able to read this but I still need to say it. Since it’s Valentines Day, I just really want to say, I love you. Even though you’re often annoying and smelly, even though you are toxically flatulent and even though I’m pretty sure you gave me fleas once, I still love you. The thing is though, are you really mine to love? That is really old for a Dachshund!

A life in juxtaposition. Mysticism, Skepticism, Faith and Reason. Sunday, April 6, 2014. The light in her eyes. I wrote before about my dachshund Jackie. When I came home, she looked terrible. She had lost so much weight so fast, she was just skin and bone and a potbelly. There was some kind of green puss coming out of her eyes and she hadn't even touched the milk but she had somehow managed to throw up even more even though she clearly had nothing left inside. Links to this post. I ♥ Lady Gaga. Left Beh...
