Alston Days: March 2011
http://alstondays.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Friday, 4 March 2011. Finally finished a cardigan that I have made for myself out of one of my charity shop finds -A bag of 10 balls of one of Louise Hardings yarns - Jasmine. I paid £3 for the lot and it was beautiful to knit with. I added some vintage buttons (another charity shop find) and made a small decorative brooch using a knitting nancy that my daughter got for Christmas. The pattern is from a book out of the library. In total, the cardigan cost me £3.50. Bargain. Links to this post. Moved from ...

Alston Days: The final countdown....
http://alstondays.blogspot.com/2012/07/final-countdown.html
Friday, 13 July 2012. The following day will see us hopefully arriving safely in France in time for Dinner! I found a wonderful site written by a chap called David Klyne. Who has made a similar journey to the one we have planned. He has included so much information and some fantastic photographs. I really am getting excited now! We only just managed to install the kitchen ceiling at 11pm last night! I'm hoping to visit the lovely Katie. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). O, poor Robinson Crusoe! Sat wit...

Alston Days: February 2011
http://alstondays.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Friday, 18 February 2011. Daisy came home from school today having made these. Don't they look yummy? They tasted as good as they looked. Delicious and crisp, not at all heavy or stodgy. I think I like cookery after school club. Tried my new loaf pan for bread. Not sure about the result, I think I left it to rise too long as the crumb was a bit more open textured than I usually make. Needs a little tweaking I think. Links to this post. Thursday, 17 February 2011. Pampered Chef Stoneware loaf pan. Forgot ...

Friday, 17 December 2010. Well, the children have their final day at school today and went off feeling very excited about the day of fun and festivities planned at school for them. They have all settled in so well and made friends. One of the things they like to do at school is cookery. They all recently made chocolate Yule logs - quite delicious they were too! Daisy with her delicious chocolate cake. I made some stollen. The house renovations are picking up speed. Daisy's room is almost done. We...Finge...

Monday, 2 January 2012. Geocache at Ashgill Force. After a long and lazy lie in this morning, we finally managed to gather the children up for a walk to Ashgill Force. To look for some Geocache. Treasure. The weather was cold but thankfully dry. At Ashgill Force with the Geocache treasure. A lovely walk back to Garrigill and lunch with some friends. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Alston Days: December 2011
http://alstondays.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Friday, 30 December 2011. A new year beckons. Quite a heady end to 2011 for one reason or another. We have sadly had to say goodnight to our beloved little fox terrier, Pike. After 14 years, his little body had had enough and it was with a very heavy heart that my lovely husband bravely took charge. Night night Pikey, you have been a wonderful companion. We blew the cobwebs in the mind away with a wonderful, if extremely windy, walk along a section of Hadrian's wall with some friends. Links to this post.

Alston Days: December 2012
http://alstondays.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, 30 December 2012. Where did that year just go? The year seems to have flown by. Even my youngest commented about it today and it has got me thinking. What were the good bits, the bad bits, the interesting bits and the sad bits? It's hard to start for fear of missing something important out. Definitely that we are all in good health! Despite a bit of a blip on the old depression front triggered by some counselling, we have all remained in remarkably good health. Good times with wonderful friends.
