Six Happy Clammers: William Turns Five
http://sixhappyclammers.blogspot.com/2012/01/william-turns-five.html
Sunday, January 29, 2012. Immediately entranced, William said, "Let's go find a place to put him where he will be happy! His little friend said, "No, I want to go squish him." William very clearly said, "No, I don't want you to do that, he is just a lizard and we aren't supposed to hurt him. We have to take care of him. I don't want to hurt God's creatures." My mom, who was listening nearby, just beamed! He likes to say. How could you not? He is a big fan of Star Wars right now, thanks to Shawn. They...

Six Happy Clammers: February 2010
http://sixhappyclammers.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 13, 2010. In honor of the start of the Olympics, I made a double batch of Lindall Heyer's granola. The recipe is one from my mom's collection, but it originated in a 1970's newspaper. Lindall Heyer was a member of the US Olympic team in the 70s, and this is her recipe. It is very good. The only changes I made have been noted. 1/4 c canola oil (original called for 1/2 c veg oil, just seemed like too much for today's cooking). 1 T vanilla extract. 1 c sunflower seeds, raw unsalted.

Sunday, February 28, 2010. I kind of volunteered Scott last year to make pasta for Avery's class. He and Avery enjoying doing that together and I knew the class would enjoy it as well. It just didn't happen last year - we got busy and never mentioned it again. The month of February Avery's class was studying the continent of Europe and Ms. Christina asked if Scott would be able to make pasta this month. Scott cuts the cheese. :-) He took all fresh ingredients, even fresh eggs from our chickens! The birth...

Friday, July 9, 2010. We were invited to visit our good friends and their 3 children down in South Florida for the 4th. The trip down went pretty quickly. When we got there Avery was shy for about 30 seconds and then I heard her best "ice breaker" comment to date; "Hey, look at my boo-boo". From that moment on, they were inseparable. There was a festival going on downtown, so we packed up and headed down to check it out. Head to the awning in front of the pub, of course! It's interesting hearing the resp...

Wednesday, June 30, 2010. June - SC Beach Trip. Bobby and Scott on the water. The girlies - Avery, Reid and Davis. Any guesses who this might be? Here's a shot of the sun rising. The girls had a blast on the beach. Avery kept running in and out of the water with the tube. The girls really wanted to go to to the Pavillion down the street, so one afternoon we took them down to do one "ride". Davis did lots of flips. Walking back to the house from the truck with their treats. Sometime in the near future.

Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Gator / FSU Gameday. We had planned to watch the game at home, but wanted to get into the rivalry mood by walking up to campus to partake in some pre-game festivities. We walked around campus and had lunch before heading over to the Gator Walk Saturday. Now do the same thing to BAMA, please! Heading to Steamers for lunch (it's a Scott thing). Avery HAD to have eye blacks. She loved them. Avery wearing James' Gator hat looking for Tebow while being held by Youssouf.

Friday, December 31, 2010. A new day.ahhhhh. (a la Celine Dion, of course). Here are a couple of first shots with my handy dandy Nikon D7000. It could make Bozo the Clown a good photographer. Which is probably why I rather like these couple of pics. Bozo and I are much closer than you know. Point and Shoots just don't help me out much! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Pleasant Acres: September 2010
http://pleasantacres.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Our days run a bit more structured and go something like this:. Give Lilly her morning nap. Then we go about the morning as usual, sometimes heading out when Lilly wakes up. After a 1pm nap, I usually have another activity set up, like music, painting or just playing in the pool. Before you know it, its dinner and bed time. This in and of itself is HUGE! Tot pack I made. Second time using scissors. He could cut all day long. I am surprised at how good he is so early. Christoph...

Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Skyline Drive on return home. A worn out CRW after he passed out during dinner. Afternoon quiet time coloring. The wagon providing a nice nap spot for Lilly. Sophie snuggles up to Christopher after an afternoon at the pool. The wagon ride back from the pool. Christopher mid bounce on the bouncy pillow. Christopher showing off his catch from the pond. The highlight of the trip: the campfire. Christopher fell asleep in the chair on Saturday night while watching the fire. 5 The wagon ...
