Construction on this project began in June last year, and we had a chance to fly it 3 times at the recent Thunda Down Under event in Westmar QLD. Here is a highlights video of the 3 flights:. Work and a few life hurdles threw themselves in my path over the past couple of years so for that I apologise. I am here to STAY this time =D! The plan for the next few weeks are to dig everything out and take a stock check of what is ok and what will need remaking or repairing. Wednesday, 23 October 2013. After having a sift though all that I still have laying around I'm quite pleased to say not a lot has changed in its state of usability. The Parachute Deployment System is all still intact (apart from obviously needing a new battery) =D. The Launch Pad is in exactly the same state as previously described a year or so ago so this is the first item to be sorted on the agenda. I must still glue in a bottle cap to the 15mm nozzle piece to create the new larger nozzle.

Thursday, 14 June 2012. Launcher Update: Release Head Attachment Piece. I have been working on updating the launcher for a while now but only recently taken any action. Couple of reasons for update:. 1 A more robust air delivery system within the launcher (In this case copper pipe in place of hosepipe). 2 Interchangeable release heads for different size nozzles. 3 Launcher base needs a re-paint in places of increased wear. 4 Possible addition of a lever to make pulling the release head easier. Unfortunately my old PC has finally kicked the bucket meaning I've lost alot of films and data, this is also the reason i haven't posted in a while, so I'm having to sort of catch up with where i am with my blog and where others are with there's. With a heat wave supposedly approaching I'm itching to get the fleet ready for some intense testing and flights. Thursday, 10 March 2011. I realised i have never explained or run through the workings of our Parachute Deploy System so here it is. :) Also in the Video I forgot to mention using the transmiter and reciver allows for expantion of up to 3 servos to do more. Thursday, March 10, 2011. Tuesday, 8 March 2011. Today the asymmetrical splice was tested :). The above pictures show the point of failure after the tape was split at 185psi. Things i taking away from this test are:. Put less glue on the splice joins.
