Sunday, January 22, 2012. The Muddy Turns White. Yesterday snow fell on Boston. Around 8:00 PM Heidi and I found ourselves sitting around trying to decide what to do. I wanted to get some photos at the Perkins Street culvert and I wanted to work on my night photography technique. Armed with a flashlight, a tri-pod and my trusty hot pink Casio,. We set out into the night. Sunday, January 22, 2012. Wednesday, January 4, 2012. The Headwaters of the Muddy River. The pump station as it looked in 1888. Others ...

Guerrilla Engineering: Ms. Thayer...
http://theguerrillaengineer.blogspot.com/2011/12/ms-thayer.html
Friday, December 16, 2011. Today is a special day and I must admit that I did not remember to acknowledge its importance until 11:05 this morning. I had been drafting and planning this post for over a week, but came up half a day late and at least a dollar short. Left to Right: Heidi, Megan and Kymme. Since that December day Ms. Thayer has amassed an impressive body of accomplishments. And ran the newspaper until his sons, Charlie and Harry Jr., bought it from him in the mid-1970s. Scholarship is another...

Traditional Irish Music. Traditional Boston Writing. See Your City in a New Light: Boston. April 25, 2014. April 25, 2014. Whenever I visit a new city, I take it upon myself to learn what makes it tick. Long, meandering walking tours punctuated by bouts of photo-taking and people-watching; finding that corner cafe tucked on a city side street; sitting on a park bench with a good book (weather permitting! Went to my favorite coffee place at the George’s Street Arcade. I did this when I was a little kid, b...

Guerrilla Engineering: How it all began...
http://theguerrillaengineer.blogspot.com/2011/12/how-it-all-began.html
Friday, December 9, 2011. How it all began. After nearly a decade of carpentry, including a brief foray into traditional wooden boat building, I decided that I needed a college education. I initially pursued architecture, but deferred my acceptance at the last minute in order to explore engineering schools.
