Building the White House: December 2010
http://wagthattail.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Building the White House. Friday, December 31, 2010. It's been fun, 2010! Before we bit adieu to 2010 and give our warmest welcome to 2011, we'd like to give you one last update. Our home has decking on the roof, and she's wrapped in Tyvek, a weather-proofing wrap. Noel's parents and our niece came for a visit to see the progress. To our surprise when we all arrived, the house had been swept out and the tubs put in place! We decided the views weren't all that good so we just removed the windows. It will ...

Building the White House: March 2011
http://wagthattail.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Building the White House. Monday, March 28, 2011. A little bit of this and a little bit of that. We do have one more aspect of tile to handle, and that is the backsplash in the kitchen. We will not know the exact square footage to order until our range hood gets installed (since the tile has to reach up to the bottom of the range hood). And, we ordered a range hood late last week. We also made the last cabinet decision! Hannah, noel, and soxy paws. Thursday, March 17, 2011. I hate being sick! While I was...

Building the White House: October 2010
http://wagthattail.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Building the White House. Tuesday, October 26, 2010. For a three hour tour, a three hour tour. We are having a bit of a weather delay over this way, but thank you. Mother Nature for bringing the rain! Since we are having an indefinite rain delay, here is a drier, much more dusty photo tour from the middle of our driveway, up the hill, around the housesite, and back down to the bottom of the hill. Silly backhoe dude, you should never leave your toys just lying around! Hannah, noel, and soxy paws. First of...

Building the White House: January 2011
http://wagthattail.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Building the White House. Saturday, January 29, 2011. Margaritas must be involved for it to be a proper fiesta. Rockin' it out on the north side of the homestead. Our garage with siding and roof, but notice how there's not a cloud in the sky. Our almost-finished front porch. And our almost-finished back porch, which will be a screen-in porch eventually. By the way, it was so wonderful to see you guys! And who magically appeared while we were there? Hannah, noel, and soxy paws. Tuesday, January 25, 2011.

Building the White House: May 2011

Building the White House. Tuesday, May 17, 2011. In the words of Frank Costanza, 'Serenity now! All last week Noel and I played contractor while Indy was dealing with the passing of his dad. We, however, are very happy he is back in the saddle, because Noel was ready to fire everybody. Granite for the flooring to first be installed. Bless his heart. I will never, for the life of me, understand their intent. Hannah, noel, and soxy paws. Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Hannah, noel, and soxy paws. April has prove...

Building the White House: June 2011
http://wagthattail.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Building the White House. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Our home is move-in ready (by the skin of our contractor's teeth, I do believe), but as Indy said, we may be done but we're not done. After we move, we will make a list of all that needs to be 'fixed.' Everything will get remedied; then, I believe (ehh.hope) that we will close on our mortgage, and this endless stream of bills with be no more. Parting shot: Happy Anniversary to my bestest friend in the whole, wide world. (You are such a lucky dude! T minus...

Building the White House: August 2010
http://wagthattail.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Building the White House. Thursday, August 26, 2010. We're so torn - like a T-shirt in a cat fight. Geez, can you believe this chilly 85 degree weather we're having? Can I get some hot chocolate over here? Anyone seen my flint stone? Now, what have we been up to? We met with Pickle yesterday. He went over the breakdown of his bid in detail. We discussed pricing of materials and labor. (By the way, I seriously believe that the labor costs are as much as the cost of materials. Ridiculous! We are so torn be...

Building the White House: On the twelfth day before moving in my contractor gave to us...no progress!
http://wagthattail.blogspot.com/2011/06/on-twelfth-day-before-moving-in-my.html
Building the White House. Thursday, June 16, 2011. On the twelfth day before moving in my contractor gave to us.no progress! Here is the timeline people. We have twelve days to get this house done. We are moving from this townhouse in thirteen days, June 29th, mind you. Less than two weeks. What is left? Note this 'installment' (as my poppa calls it) is just a dose of reality. As I mentioned when beginning this blogging adventure, we were going to be brutally honest about our experience. One day ...We ar...

Building the White House: September 2010
http://wagthattail.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Building the White House. Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Let's hope they don't seek greener pastures.in our front yard. I would like to take this moment to apologize to my granny's cattle who must now stare into our green pastures from their side of the fence, because THE FENCE IS FINISHED! Granny, you're getting a 'thanks' too but just hold your horses (or your cows, ha! For a minute.). It was kind of funny. When we started fencing on Sunday, two male calves were spying on us during the whole process&...
