Jill Martindale : August 2014
http://jillmartindale.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 21, 2014. 12 Hours at Wausau. After the Lumberjack 100, I knew I wanted to work towards doing a 12 hour endurance race, so I signed up for the 12 hour solo race at the Wausau24. Wausau was a little over a month after the Lumberjack, and I figured I could use that month to train to prepare for it. Plus, my bike-racer-travel bff Danielle told me that Wausau was a blast, so I just had to check it out! SHE WAS TOTALLY RIGHT! Before getting caught in the rain. There was a charging station in ...

Little Miss Singletrack: February 2010
http://valeriejdosland.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Enjoying what each day brings, usually on a bike ride, but not always. Sunday, February 21, 2010. Yesterday I was able to do my training ride outside. It was the best ride I've had since I was diagnosed with cancer and completed treatment. I finally feel like I'm getting back to my former fitness level. The best part of yesterday's training is that it helped me feel rejuvenated. Spring is around the corner and I can't wait! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I love to bike and especially love endurance mountain...

Little Miss Singletrack: Spring has sprung!
http://valeriejdosland.blogspot.com/2010/04/spring-has-sprung.html
Enjoying what each day brings, usually on a bike ride, but not always. Sunday, April 11, 2010. Over the Easter holiday, Kevin and I went out to Fruita. For a few days of mountain biking. The first day was a complete bust because of rain but we were able to ride Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The best day was Friday by far - we did a 5 hour ride on CO singletrack. Without covering the same trail twice. It was fun, rocky singletrack. With great views of the Colorado River. Good to see youre back! I love to b...

Charlie Farrow's Amateur Bike Racing Website. I am the consummate Amateur. Wednesday, April 24, 2013. Fear and Loathing on the North Shore Trail. Riding the beautiful North-shore Trail both as a cathartic mental and physical exercise and as a platform from which to relish an authentic Irish Coffee Stout exquisitely handcrafted in Stillwater, Minnesota. The shelters along the North Shore Trail are top notch. Note: There is an account of Pierre Oster and the brothers. Bragging rights for completing the ful...

Little Miss Singletrack: March 2010
http://valeriejdosland.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Enjoying what each day brings, usually on a bike ride, but not always. Friday, March 26, 2010. What health care reform means to me. Late summer and early fall was a complete blur to me because I was in the midst of a cancer diagnosis and cancer treatment. As a result, I was not at all engaged in the health care fight in Congress. I should have been but to be honest, I was recovering from a radical hysterectomy, in a fog of depression, and exhausted and nauseous. From chemotherapy and radiation. July 3 &#...

Little Miss Singletrack: January 2010
http://valeriejdosland.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Enjoying what each day brings, usually on a bike ride, but not always. Sunday, January 17, 2010. Ready, Set, Go. I've been back with my coach and on the bike since December but all of my focus has been on recovering from cancer treatment and getting used to physical activity again. So, I've been riding but it has been without much focus. However, I feel good and rested so my coach will start focusing the training and I can focus again on what I love - the bike and endurance riding. Yeah! Wisconsin Off Ro...
