Until I've Seen It All
About Me
http://waywardtraveller.com/about-me
Until I've Seen It All. Who is Wayward Traveller? I am from a little town in Washington State called Spokane. The truth is that it’s the second biggest city in the state, but it feels really little to me. I haven’t been there in a while. I studied abroad in Sydney, Australia for six months in 2009. I met a boy, I moved to Italy, I started a blog. Then I moved back to Sydney and I’ve been here ever since. Pretty much a Bondi stereotype. Oh yea, and I’ll never stop exploring. There she goes…
http://waywardtraveller.com/2015/02/there-she-goes
Until I've Seen It All. There she goes…. February 11, 2015. Bull; Leave a Comment. When I landed in Kuala Lumpur, I was definitely past the point of rational fatigue. That didn’t help the case. Eight hours of sleeping on a highly air conditioned airplane without a jumper or a blanket, plus a few more hours of sleeping on the floor of the highly air conditioned KL airport. It was a vulnerable situation, a glaringly lonely situation. Is she alone too? Do they live in Sydney or in Colombo? I never wrote tha...

One for The Book.
http://waywardtraveller.com/2014/09/one-for-the-book
Until I've Seen It All. One for The Book. September 29, 2014. Bull; 1 Comment. At least you asked! Katie’s words. It’s not the first time I’ve heard them, or a variation of them. You’re so brave. I think it’s awesome when a girl asks for what she wants. But now you know, there is no more what if. I just want to stop right here and say this isn’t a pity party. So change the tone you’re reading this in right now. You never know if you don’t try. I actually said those words. I hate being the important one&#...
Stay
http://waywardtraveller.com/2014/01/stay
Until I've Seen It All. January 15, 2014. Bull; 7 Comments. What brought you to Sydney? Do you think you’ll stay here? Those are the two questions I get asked all of the time. Even my closest friends and fellow expats have a tendency to ask. What brought me here? School. What brought me back? The ocean. The surf. The lifelong dream. I don’t even know what it was in the end, but from the moment I stepped on that return leg of a United Airlines flight back to Seattle, I was plotting my return. Plural. ...

The Exception: Somewhere in the Quiet
http://miamilf.blogspot.com/2013/08/somewhere-in-quiet.html
Who is The Exception. 21 August, 2013. Somewhere in the Quiet. There is a quiet to the mountains that I am not sure exists in other locations. While sounds rolls across the desert for miles or silence seems so complete, the mountains are the sounds of nature and wildlife. While thunder rolls just within reach, I bury myself in a quilt and fall into thoughts accompanied by a cricket symphony with only the pines and the breeze as guest artists. I note, but do not miss, the sounds of traffic. I agree. :).
The Exception: Day Turning to Night
http://miamilf.blogspot.com/2013/11/day-turning-to-night.html
Who is The Exception. 04 November, 2013. Day Turning to Night. I wasnt ready to fall back an hour to witness the dusk arriving that much sooner and the day turning to night earlier each day. I just was not ready. Ready or not - we have switched to Standard time, and I am caught unprepared for the chill the works it way into my body as soon as the sun drops below the horizon. November feels unsettled, because I have not yet left October. I hear you. I feel like Im being dragged toward winter as well.
The Exception: Who is The Exception
http://miamilf.blogspot.com/p/who-is-exception.html
Who is The Exception. Who is The Exception. Yesterday I sent a text to a man who I have never met though he intrigues me. I asked a question to which I honestly wanted the answer – and ended up flirting without the intent of doing so. The exchange left me wondering about myself but also about the information that is here – and everywhere – about who I am and the person I am? And all that brought me back to this tab and the desire to write what I intended to write months upon months ago! As I write this, ...
The Exception: Shared SHelves
http://miamilf.blogspot.com/2013/09/shared-shelves.html
Who is The Exception. 27 September, 2013. This summer I started on a mission. I am reading some of the titles that fill my daughters teen aged shelves. While this came about as a result of my buying and her reading a book that was likely, just slightly, a bit old for her - and her reading it around friends who thought wow that looks good before I realized that it was likely too old for her sigh. So now I am reading a sampling of her books. The guys at work warn me about having a teen aged girl, but reall...
The Exception: My Symphony - RAOKA
http://miamilf.blogspot.com/2010/06/my-symphony-raoka.html
Who is The Exception. 02 June, 2010. My Symphony - RAOKA. I stumbled across this quote one morning in May while my neck felt tight and my pulse felt high and I sought some gem from the lives and words of others. I sought serenity. In thoughts and words – words being a source of so much in my life to include serenity. The quote caught my attention. I wanted to share it immediately like a kid bringing home a new, bedraggled, scruffy, skin and bones, stray “Look mom! Can I keep it? Throughout the month I co...
The Exception: Losing My Sense of Humor
http://miamilf.blogspot.com/2013/10/losing-my-sense-of-humor.html
Who is The Exception. 02 October, 2013. Losing My Sense of Humor. Tuesday I fled my office, lose strings fluttering behind me as I left. Four hours, regardless of whether you know it is coming or not, is often not enough time to get things tied nicely into bows, especially when the environment is dynamic in nature, as my work is of late. But leave the office I did. I left with the full realization that I had no idea when I would return, which is unsettling in its own little way. I will not think about th...
The Exception: For Serious?
http://miamilf.blogspot.com/2014/01/for-serious.html
Who is The Exception. 21 January, 2014. A woman behind me loudly states, For serious. How my life reflects this idea of late. For serious, a month ago I was in shorts and tanks while my daughter swam daily in an outdoor pool. For serious I am now freezing and giving thanks for every day that doesnt involve my having to walk in or on ice. For serious, I spend days working without seeing the sun and then elect to freeze outside just to relish its color and warmth before it dips below the horizon. For serio...

Flight of the Jaya Bird: America the Beautiful
http://jayabird.blogspot.com/2011/10/america-beautiful.html
Flight of the Jaya Bird. Tales of an escaped DC Jail Bird's migration through life. Saturday, October 1, 2011. Hello, everyone, I am back! I am currently job searching in Beantown. It's pretty tough in this economy but I am trying to use this time wisely and keep the faith like many people around our great nation. Speaking of the good ol' U.S. of A, I've established a new future goal to help satisfy my wanderlust. A roadtrip across America! Of Mitchell, South Dakota, or checking out the music scene.

Wayward Traveller — Until I've Seen It All
Lessons on Living with an Italian. Guatemala: lost experiences, gained friends. August 10, 2015. I missed a lot. Okay, okay. Maybe it’s not the best way to set the scene as I begin to unfold the tales of my last month. But when it comes to Guatemala, I missed a lot. But I met someone my first day in Guatemala. In fact, I didn’t even have to make it to Atitlán first. Where are you from? Where are you going? What are you going to do there? He asked me, finally turning around in his seat to face me. That fi...

Wayward Travels | Paved to the Primeval
Paved to the Primeval. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. March 21, 2015. So Permits. Good idea and management tool but man can they be a pain. I’m in favor of permits and the idea behind them and in a lot of places it’s very easy, no issues. For the John Muir Trail however, it’s somewhat complicated and kind of a pain. Luckily all the information is out there you just have to put it together. It can be like a Magic Eye at first so take some time. Again, some Trailheads have higher quota...

Wayward Spice
Sunday, 1 March 2015. A foot in both worlds. For my first post here in 'Wayward Spice', I was sitting in my favourite place in the window of my diminutive sitting room/office here at Hacienda Zuleta. Thursday, 26 February 2015. Room with a view - rooftops of Ipiales. Which turned out to be just around the corner from where I stayed then. The historical centre of Quito has been transformed by a dedicated programme of restoration, whereas in those days it was run down and a bit scary to be in at times&...
