Textile art using threads and paint. Sometimes, the support you use doesn’t need to be painted, but if it does, I have found it much better to go slowly and apply very thin paint onto wet or damp fabric, then, when dry, decide if and where you would like more, but always add thinly. Then add your threads, and fabric pieces to form your conceptual theme, and enjoy the journey into your creation. Section of Exmouth Landscape. August 1, 2015 at 3:23 pm. August 4, 2015 at 6:40 pm. A close look at their feathers and features is a must if I am going to paint or stitch images of them. Textile art using threads and paint. When you really ‘look’ at the ocean and all that is in and around it you become aware of the many intricacies of the ecology surrounding all life on the reef, in the sand , the sky, and the ocean itself. Small and larger rock pools at low tide are homes to many organisms, molluscs, seaweeds, octopus and crabs. Small, smooth and shiny rocks are marked with lines and patterns evoking mystery and creating a need to paint. Starfish in shallow water. Sand, sea and shadows.
