THE HISTORY OF A LAMP COMPANY. Texans Incorporated Reunion 2005. The Texans Incorporated Reunion was held at the Bangs Community Center on Saturday, December 3rd 2005. The event, which doubled as a signing party for the book Pedlar of Dreams. Was an attempt to reunite as many former Texans Inc. employees as possible, and dozens were on hand. The result was a marvelous four-hour gathering of employees, historians and TV lamp collectors. Mark Stevens with Richard Gunter. Martha and David Cole, Charles Yates.

I entered into the study of Texans Inc. with certain unfortunate notions regarding small towns and their inhabitants, my concerns centering on the level of cooperation I would receive from the community. It was clear from the outset that the story could only unfold by "shaking the trees" in Bangs, conducting interviews with long-time residents and former employees. How would I be received? THE HISTORY OF A LAMP COMPANY. TV Lamps, Page One. This A505 panther, clearly the most popular of the eight "pre-Kron" TV lamps, was made by other potteries as well. The source of the original design is unknown. Not often found in white, this A505 bears the Texans Inc. stamp on the felt base. Rising out of the darkness like the hull of the Titanic is this shuttle kiln, dating from the earliest Texans days. Spray booths, where lamps were give their final decorative glaze. Richard Gunter examines various lamp molds. Richard finds several of his designs among the plaster models. Carts once used to move products. The Bangs Plant in 2005.

Merely one minute long and a little worse for wear, the clip is nonetheless a unique and important document. Originally filmed by Billy Gamblin in 8mm, it was transferred to VHS and later to DVD.
