Cwm Goch Chronicles: Food Pond Part 1
http://cwmgochchronicles.blogspot.com/2012/08/food-pond-part-1.html
Sunday, August 12, 2012. Food Pond Part 1. We have 2 small ponds which we built over the last couple of years for fish and frogs. This week I got onto our first 'serious' pond which will be an experimental aquaculture pond. I had dug out the hole a couple of months ago, but we had to wait for the budget to build up to get the liner. It's not cheap, but hopefully will last. Anyway, I thought I'd share what we're doing and how in case it's useful to someone else out there. Ok so first - I dug a large hole!

Cwm Goch Chronicles: Back from the dead?
http://cwmgochchronicles.blogspot.com/2013/09/back-from-dead.html
Friday, September 20, 2013. Back from the dead? It's been ages since I've blogged. Going back to work more days this year has killed off any free time I might have had. And I haven't enjoyed it, but that's life. But the good news is. long service leave is just around the corner! I will have 3 glorious months to potter in the garden, get to all those jobs around the house that have been on the back burner for ages and generally reconnect with the things I've missed. Cwm Goch Chronicles: April 2014
http://cwmgochchronicles.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 9, 2014. A new chapter is opening for us. After years of trying to find some resolution to ongoing problems at school, we've finally come to the conclusion that the problems cannot by aided by the school and that in fact they are being exacerbated by the contact there. So we made to decision to homeschool part-time (it's all I can manage between work). The first hurdle was the Dept telling me that this wasn't allowed. That we had to either go fulltime or nothing. I am not however, about ...

Cwm Goch Chronicles: The forest survived....just.
http://cwmgochchronicles.blogspot.com/2014/04/the-forest-survivedjust.html
Wednesday, April 2, 2014. The forest survived.just. Well it's 6 months again since the last post. Lots of work was done during long service, areas paved, things pruned etc. But the garden ended up being left to fend for itself. We had such a hot, long and dry summer that it became apparent that I was wasting time and water watering everyday. Things would fry anyway. So it was left, and now with a cool change in the air, I've finally felt encouraged enough to go out and assess the damage. Another new expe...

Cwm Goch Chronicles: May 2014
http://cwmgochchronicles.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 9, 2014. The last couple of weeks have been absolutely full for me. Looking forward to some down time soon. A positive meeting with a teacher was a nice injection - YM's anxiety has translated to some, 'I've done this in homeschooling' resistance in class but also in some neater work so a small win there. YM has developed a real interest in science so we're doing experiments left right and centre. Have ordered a real chemistry set so they get used to using real equipment from the word go.

Cwm Goch Chronicles: Harvest Record
http://cwmgochchronicles.blogspot.com/p/harvest-record.html
Always was terrible at sticking to things - so there will no doubt be huge holes in this record! AUGUST: Rubarb (1kg - enough for plenty of apple and rhubard crumble). Silverbeet - Plenty available, mostly Rainbow chard. 1 Fat leek (first of a decent enough size). Spring onions (good supply - cut and come again). Lettuce (3 small red) haven't thrived so too the whole thing out. Lemonade lemons - heaps for us and have given heaps away. Grapefruit - no-one eats it (heaps! One Ford plant doing ok, though da...

Cwm Goch Chronicles: June 2012
http://cwmgochchronicles.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 7, 2012. I was at work today while it poured, but Hubby thought of me and send me pics of the swale! It's deeper at one end, which I actually don't feel is a real problem but I might try to even it out a little more. You don't appreciate the amount of water that runs off until you catch it. Seriously stoked about this! A few weeks time and this place should start looking quite different. Sunday, June 3, 2012. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). This is my favourite rose in the garden.
