Organized Chaos: what's your sticky note say?

http://www.welcometoorganizedchaos.com/2010/05/whats-your-sticky-note-say.html

A think tank focused on creative solutions for future problem solvers. Wednesday, May 26, 2010. What's your sticky note say? When I walked into my first grade classroom today I immediately noticed something strange-Every child had a note paper clipped to their shirt with one or two descriptive words. I wondered what they were up to. We teach writing in the afternoon, so it couldn't have been a lesson on using descriptive words. At the end of the day one came to visit me at my desk before he left. I am go...

A think tank focused on creative solutions for future problem solvers. Monday, December 14, 2009. I have to admit I'm hurt. I thought we had a long standing deal. If I worked hard during the week you'd get my back for two days. You know, make sure I get rest, recharge. Get me ready for Monday morning. Monday morning is here, Weekend, and I don't feel rested or recharged. Where were you? My bag of work I brought home? The IEP I was going to get ready for? The planning I had such great intentions of doing?

Organized Chaos: Long Summer Days

http://www.welcometoorganizedchaos.com/2015/07/long-summer-days.html

A think tank focused on creative solutions for future problem solvers. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. By nap time I am exhausted and in need of a nap myself. It's like summer camp all over again- the whole house shuts down for rest hour. It's beautiful. Not productive, but beautiful. After bedtime I'm lucky to be churning out a few full sentences to my husband, and those few coherent phrases mostly involve trying to recap the day's events without making him leave the house and never come back. To receive my w...

Just another WordPress.com site. Laquo; Teacher Identity. The Art of Guided Reading. On February 2, 2013. After speaking with my cooperating teacher about strategies to improve working with this group, I felt better equipped to manage the group. She told me that she usually, but not always, starts the discussion with students who are quieter to give them a chance to speak. She also told me that E.O. was not normally that distracted in a small group, and to just keep redirecting him. You are commenting us...

Just another WordPress.com site. Reflective Final on Blogging. One of my favorite blog posts from this quarter was my most recent one of Teaching Obtuse Triangles, Not as Easy as it Sounds. Snippety Gibbet: Spooning

https://snippetygibbet.blogspot.com/2015/04/spooning.html

Wednesday, April 8, 2015. This past week I finished Spoonula 3 and carved another spoon for a friend. There have been no big wood mishaps in the last week. The only problem is that I can't stop thinking about wanting to carve. I wake up at night thinking about it. Spoonulas 2 and 3 were carved out of a board of Ambrosia Maple. I love the color of this after I oiled it. Gorgeous! Carving dried boards is like carving brick though. Wow, that was tough on my hands. You are a speed learner Jan! Subscribe to: ...
