Seeking peace in Southwest Oregon. Mushrooms in the orchard – Nov 2012. December 18, 2012. Yesterday, the weather was calling for our coldest temp so far (23F), so I thought it would be a good time to harvest some of our daikon radishes that are growing in the garden. However, daikon radishes can get very long, so it can be somewhat surprising to see what all is harvested. Here is a picture of some of the daikons after getting cleaned up a bit:. Monday, April 4, 2011. No time, no time at all. Just back from a stellar weekend in Cleveland with Leah. Long form forest walks, some great live music, some hours at the Botanical Gardens and Art Museum, and a gutbusting supper at Melt Bar and Grilled hopefully gave me the shot in the arm to weather out these last few weeks as Winter and Spring keep fighting for control of the weather. I fly out for LA right after work on Friday, so I have a mere four odd after-work evenings to get everything planted....

Picked up seven 2-week old Buckeye chicks/pullets from a local breeder this evening, and got them set up in the somewhat luxurious (if I do say so myself) brooder setup in the basement.
