The blog of the Jewell Whanau in Wellington, New Zealand. Thursday, 24 March 2016. Last weekend we flew to Dunedin, met up with Sam and Bex and headed out to Moeraki. Where we stayed in this bach. It was by the bay and we had a great meal at Fleurs. Which is down by the wharf. We did part of the Moeraki Millennium Walkway. But didn't see any penguins. We did respect the seagulls though. Andy has been busy keeping things neat and tidy. We now have a garden feature. Current debate is over whether it will be a bird bath, a bird feeder, plant holder or something completely different. We hired a house for the week in Glenbeigh. Which is a little town on the southern side of Dingle Bay. It's on the Ring of Kerry. And there are lots of walks to do and scenic places to visit. The blog of the Jewell Whanau in Wellington, New Zealand. Saturday, 26 September 2015. Another year, another tulip post. The day is tomorrow but we went down this afternoon to check it out. It had been a fine day with sunshine, clear skies and no wind but a showery change set in mid afternoon just as we were setting off. The displays were not as intense as some years. But there was plenty of other colour around. And the magnolias are as magnificent as ever. And playing some nice acoustic Celtic music.

An event that had wide ranging repercussions and shaped the future development of three countries (Australia, New Zealand and modern Turkey). There are a number of commemorative activities going on here and yesterday we were treated to a parade. Of restored vintage and reproduction vehicles. First up was a detachment of mounted cavalry.

It was our first time and we enjoyed picking the flowers. It was seriously exhausting work so we felt justified in retiring to the local winery. A kiwi knitter living in old Wellytown. Friday, 20 March 2009. I've been looking after my DD today who has some sort of weird virus which I haven't seen before. But we have a nice time keeping each other company and chatting. Socks Yarn is Cocoon by Cleckheaton. Very splitty for some reason. The pink is less mauve than the picture. They are very tight on me. I have been making good progress on my Noro blankie and am now up to 12 finished rectangles. Last I have started on this. Friday, 13 March 2009.
