Saturday, November 15, 2014. Honor’s school held a social event tonight that involved learning to paint and hanging out with other members of her Middle School. We had to brave freezing temps to get out there, but it was worth it. We had a fun time and both painted a nice picture of a crab. I chose to do a background with newspapers showing Maryland and DC scenery, Honor chose animals, nature and culture. In the beginning, we had a blank canvas…. Honor’s crab…. What a fun evening! The garb that Brian, Brad and I wore was loaner items from the barony, but Honor’s dress was loaned to her from a new friend. These are deceptively strong tents… it was quite a blustery day! Friday, October 31, 2014. On the Night Before Halloween…. Ninja really wanted to know if we were finally going to get around to carving the pumpkins? Brad managed to get away from work a little earlier than normal, the kids had homework done, and I had thrown a batch of chili in the crock pot, so we got set up to carve our jack-o-lanterns. The cats were very curious. Pumpkins were hard to come by our last couple of years and so we haven’t had a chance to do this in quite some time! It has fangs like this!
