Another thought regarding the whole Nerf thing is if a certain piece of equipment must be NERF'd then why not do it with a bit of story instead of the way its currently done. Taking EVE Online as an example although this is not specifically aimed at EVE or CCP.

Tuesday, January 29, 2008. The beach house is decorated in classic 1970s style. However. The pool table upstairs scored big points. A decade ago I could shoot pool. Not so much anymore. Note to self, brush up on billiards skills. Four player cutthroat variation. Five second clock. Playing in the local hippie coffee shop Saturday morning. The teams weren't fair though. What DO I do all day? Tuesday, June 30, 2009. I just got back from Target with the kids. One of the items on my list was tampons. I'm standing on that aisle looking for what I need when the three year old starts shouting, "I want some cheese sticks! I told him that we could have a cheese stick when we got home but he started reaching for the tampon boxes on the shelves. "Cheese sticks! He shouted.
