Wednesday, June 08, 2005. English is a crazy language. Let's face it - English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant, nor ham in hamburger; neither apple or pine in pineapple. If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth, beeth? One goose, two geese. So I guess it should be one moose, 2 meese. If teachers taught, why doesn't preachers praught? You recite at a play but play at a recital. Ship by truck and send cargo by ship. How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same.
