willathome - Dallas
http://will.thestranathans.com/post/14371270529/dallas
The slightly less long-winded not-at-work version of Will. Last night, Mrs. At Home. And I saw a preview for Dallas the new series. Since it will be on in 2012 and we’ve lived in the Dallas area before, I figured I’d give some bullet points about Dallas and Texas in general so I could set the record straight on some things I know will be asked. No Everybody in Dallas does not wear cowboy hats. Many people in Fort Worth do, however. In Dallas, long ago. No, Dallas is not a bunch of tall buildings in the m...

The slightly less long-winded not-at-work version of Will. My friend, Jinksto. Wrote a whole month’s worth of emails to a couple who were getting married. Many couples seem to be in some sort of a. Women are From Venus, Men are From Mars. You never talk bad about your teammates. Ever. Your job is to. If you’re go...

The slightly less long-winded not-at-work version of Will. The classroom was in a portable building that at that point was pretty stationary. It had been in the same location for awhile, and continued to be there as long as I was in elementary school. Since it was a somewhat permanent temporary building, the teacher had the building carpeted and had her favorite decorations up in addition to all the learning tools, incubators, construction zones, computers, etc. Larr; Previous post. The slightly less long-winded not-at-work version of Will. I’ve mentioned in the past that I’ve been using. When I work primarily in GUI environments:. It’s available everywhere. On Windows, Mac, and all the non-GUI platforms I work on. So it’s quite handy to get really used to one. When checking in code via. By using it, so ...

Valerie at Home: April 2012
http://valerie.thestranathans.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Well, we're heading off to a new adventure. The name of our new adventure is "private school". I know, it sounds so.elitist. Private school. It brings to mind uniforms, sports cars, and luxury vacations. Well, let me just say that we didn't win the Mega Millions and our private school is rather more modest. Much more modest. Posted by Valerie at Home. Links to this post. Monday, April 2, 2012. Homeschooling families #2 and #3 were a bit harder to spot. Moms and kids dressed i...

Monday, February 27, 2012. Facebook statuses are too short. I know. One would think that it would take a big huge event to make me start blogging again. Something exciting. Something astounding. Something shocking. There was no way that little room should have used that much paint. And then it's on to the kitchen! Posted by Valerie at Home. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Valerie at Home: Being late
http://valerie.thestranathans.com/2013/08/being-late.html
Tuesday, August 20, 2013. What you have just said with your actions is, "My time and my desires are far more valuable than yours. You are not a priority in my life and you and your needs are not important to me. My promises to you mean less than an extra 10 minutes reading Facebook." Would you ever say that out loud to someone's face? I can't imagine anyone who would! To walk into Starbucks without having to apologize and explain why you're late again? Posted by Valerie at Home. These are my people.

UNEDITED, TYPOGRAPHICALLY UNSOUND, GRAMMATICALLY INCORRECT MUSING ABOUT RANDOM THINGS. June 12th, 2016. I like making things. I can sometimes do a pretty fair job of it but it takes a lot of effort and time. . One of the things that I like to do is woodworking. When I make something out of wood I have to make each piece. Every part is cut out and shaped individually. Every curve and turn is created from something that began its stay with me as square stock. . As I finish whatever I’m working on I con...
Valerie at Home: June 2011

Thursday, June 2, 2011. I finally convinced K to let me get a picture of her in the new shirt I made her. She wore it to church Sunday and I made her stand in front of the door for a picture before I let her go in the house. Because I will resort to tough love to get a picture. So here she is in her new top. She looks much older than 10, unfortunately. Then L had to get in on the pictures and I thought I'd post a few here so you can see what I go through to get a good picture. Posted by Valerie at Home.
Valerie at Home: I'm liking this new schedule
http://valerie.thestranathans.com/2013/09/im-liking-this-new-schedule.html
Tuesday, September 3, 2013. I'm liking this new schedule. When I taught and our school started at 7:30 (and what high schooler did they think was going to be ready to interact with the world at 7:30 in the morning! Since school has started, my alarm is set for most days at 7am. Early, yes, but not stupid hour early. And curiously, my body has adjusted so well that it's often awake and ready to go before my alarm ever goes off. And I'm liking getting the day started earlier. Posted by Valerie at Home.

Saturday, August 18, 2012. How to be the most awesome mom on the block. Flip it over onto the blender and and blend it into a jar of creamy goodness. Remove the blade assembly, put a straw in it, and hand it to the amazed and delighted child. This activity will take up about 10 minutes. After which they will go back to the chaos of before, but at least you can console yourself with the fact that you have a reputation as most awesome mom ever. Posted by Valerie at Home. The slightly less long-winded not-at-work version of Will. Lots of stuff went around the news several months ago about online privacy or advertising tracking and such.
