Mr. and Mrs. R's Muscat Deli: Restaurant Review - Capri Court
http://muscatdeli.blogspot.com/2009/08/restaurant-review-capri-court.html
Monday, 31 August 2009. Restaurant Review - Capri Court. For some reason we can't explain, a large portion of the better restaurants in the city is Italian styled. In the mid-range category we have Come Prima. And there are two good high-end Italian restaurants: Tuscany. Of which a review will surely follow one day) and Capri Court. Is situated in Shangri-La's Al Bandar Hotel. We don't know how else to explain it. Mr R opted to start with minestrone. In Dubai, an experience the chefs of Capri Court.

Mr. and Mrs. R's Muscat Deli: Restaurant Review - Al Marjan Bistro
http://muscatdeli.blogspot.com/2011/03/restaurant-review-al-marjan-bistro.html
Sunday, 13 March 2011. Restaurant Review - Al Marjan Bistro. The average Muscat diner didn't really 'get' Vue. Maybe the cooking was too complicated, perhaps the pricing to ambitious. We don't know, but we were sorry to see them. And now there's Al Marjan Bistro. Former location bordering Al Bustan's. Lobby, and set in exactly the same interior, Al Marjan. Wants to distinguish itself by serving seasonal, classic French dishes, with a refined touch. Ok, we get that. Of the mains, the braised beef cheeks.

Mr. and Mrs. R's Muscat Deli: Caramel French Bakery
http://muscatdeli.blogspot.com/2011/02/caramel-french-bakery.html
Sunday, 6 February 2011. There is a buzz going around in town. Wherever we go we hear people asking eachother if they tried 'that new bakery' yet. They mean Caramel. The French bakery that recently opened in Ghubra. We knew it was coming, so we were excited to try some of the products once the store finally opened in January. Offers breads, pastries and a selection of food products such as Valrhona. Puff pastry is not something that any of the other bakeries in Muscat master. But Caramel. Mr and Mrs....

Mr. and Mrs. R's Muscat Deli: Cheese and Wine Club at the Radisson Blu Hotel
http://muscatdeli.blogspot.com/2011/04/cheese-and-wine-club-at-radisson-blu.html
Monday, 11 April 2011. Cheese and Wine Club at the Radisson Blu Hotel. A very good initiative from the Radisson Blu Hotel. A Cheese and Wine Club. The idea is simple: assemble a crowd of wine and cheese lovers, and organise a monthly theme night to showcase the wines of one or two specific producers. Serve cheeses that match the wines, and you're all set to go. As a bonus, the Radisson. Also promises the occasional guest appearance of a winemaker, who will give inside information on his/her own wines.

Well underway already, but still worth mentioning is Gourmet Abu Dhabi. More high-brow and serious than Taste of Dubai.

Mr. and Mrs. R's Muscat Deli: Restaurant Review - Vue by Shannon Bennett
http://muscatdeli.blogspot.com/2010/01/restaurant-review-vue-by-shannon.html
Wednesday, 27 January 2010. Restaurant Review - Vue by Shannon Bennett. We have been planning a review of Vue by Shannon Bennett. For quite some time now, as it is –without a doubt– Muscat’s best restaurant. Is not cheap. A seven course menu gourmand will set you back 40 OMR. But it has a lot to offer in return. First and foremost, Vue. We like the way Vue. Wines aren’t cheap either, and this is something that troubles us a bit more. While it must be said that Vue. On to the food. All dishes are prep...

http://muscatdeli.blogspot.com/2011/03/les-saveurs-dici-et-dailleurs.html
Tuesday, 8 March 2011. Les Saveurs d'Ici et d'Ailleurs. We told you about the Saveurs du Terroir. Evenings in the InterContinental Hotel. Before. If you are a true lover of food, you will surely have visited one of these evenings. There was a temporary hold on these evenings after the former Resident Manager, Marc Lambert, left last year. But Didier Gourmaud, his successor, made the wise decision to continue, albeit with a slight change in theme. Under the title Les Saveurs d'Ici et d'Ailleurs.
