Mabel lives in the shop full time, poor girl has to stand about all day long and then gets to stay all night as well.every night. Not much of a life but at least she gets to dress up every so often.this week she is a Woodland Fairy! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Bugs and Fishes by Lupin. WoollyLakes: How long??

http://woollylakes.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-long.html

Tuesday, 1 May 2012. I know it's been ages again since I updated my blog.so here goes. I've had a few sales on Etsy now with two Union Jack cushions winging their way over to America which has been fantastic, it has meant however that I've had to make more of them! The plan was to make a blue and a pink version but I only got as far as finishing the blue which is now in my Etsy shop. The next plan of action is to make some 'tongue in cheek' road sign cushions.watch this space! Journey To The Green Dream.

WoollyLakes: May 2011

Monday, 9 May 2011. Dress A Girl Around The World. I've just started making some lovely little pillowcase dresses for ' Dress A Girl Around The World'. Charity. Their aim is to make and send dresses to less privileged countries so that every girl has at least one pretty dress to wear. I heard about this from a lovely lady on Folksy Sew Scrumptious. Who has fantastically taken the organising and sending of dresses from this country to the charities base in America. Thursday, 5 May 2011. After selling a fe...

Sunday, 6 November 2011. On a brighter note, I have been making! I've got a couple of craft fayres lined up and have been trying to make things that will hopefully go down well at these.some Christmas bits, some lovely cuddly diary covers and some beach huts (just to remind you all of Summer! WoollyLakes: January 2011

http://woollylakes.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, 30 January 2011. Today we went off to our local Forest in Grizedale for a protest against the government selling of these publicly owned forests to private buyers. Grizedale is a fantastic forest, run by the Forestry Commission with walking routes, bike routes and bridle paths as well as an education centre, visitors centre and great adventure playground and this is just one of many forests being earmarked for sale. And it would be a real shame if future children don't have that chance. Today was...

Cherry Tree: February 2012

http://cherrytreehandmades.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, 25 February 2012. Or you persist, and make your first scarf for your Barbie, Sindy, Tiny tears or teddy. You are so proud! And scarves of course and always have something on the go. So this is back to basics - a garter stitch scarf which I am very pleased with. It will be on its way to Glasgow soon as a belated birthday present for my step daughter who is kindly grateful for everything I make for her. What are the chances of that! Sunday, 12 February 2012. Cherry Tree: August 2011

http://cherrytreehandmades.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Monday, 15 August 2011. I am continuing to experiment with paper and stitching and treated myself to the latest cloth paper and scissors. This card has been made bits of an old postcard (well a copy of it! And some white cotton I have, plus a tiny piece of vintage tray cloth. The flowers are made from some gauzy fabric from a scarf I found in Help the Aged, (new actually! Besides, it's good to reinvent things. I have drawn on the card and distressed it with gold just to add to the texture. Wwwcherrytreeh...

Cherry Tree: June 2011

http://cherrytreehandmades.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 22 June 2011. Or seeing what can be done with paper, maps and newspaper. I am thinking about the transient nature of flowers and enjoying sticking, gluing, tearing up strips and all that as well as working with cups of tea, both for real and otherwise. It's the day to day, mundane and what is around rather than looking for some Holy Grail. I intend to make a papier mache cup and saucer, and instead of tea, the cup will be filled with gold and inspiring words of wisdom. The cup that cheers!

Sunday, 2 January 2011. I see I have been far too busy to blog and no wonder. Amy is out of hospital but due for a transplant in a few weeks. She has done brilliantly and we have had some scary moments but met some wonderful caring nursing staff at the MRI. Crafty wise it's been all about ACEO's! Wow I love these little tiny pictures only 2.5 and 3.5 and there are some amazing ones around. It's whole new field for me brought into spotlight by teabreaks. Who has done this tree in springtime which I love:.

http://dottiedesigns.blogspot.com/2011/02/stylish-blogger-award.html?showComment=1297530020610

Friday, 11 February 2011. I am very proud to have been awarded this award by the lovely blog Creating Trouble. Now, being a little cynical, although flattered to have been awarded it I almost didn't respond to it as it feels a little too much like hard work for my liking. Then I thought about how I felt when I received the 'nomination' for a Stylish Blogger Award! So I decided to join in! There are 4 things that you have to do. They are as follows. 2 Share 7 things about yourself. mmmm here goes! 3 Award...

Cherry Tree: October 2011

Sunday, 9 October 2011. Back to the needles! My son has just been to New York and I am hoping he will bring me a NY times, which I have a mind to use in a newspaper teacup. I am getting a bit bored of the Daily Mail which my Mum in law let's us have (primarily for Mr D'Arcey's litter tray.) I really fancy doing some little naieve pictures on this tea-cup-to-be but kind of washed out, so the paper shines through. Just found this lovely drawing of a lurcher. Yesterday I had another look here. Wow what a 6 ...

Cherry Tree: Giant lions and insipid lunch

http://cherrytreehandmades.blogspot.com/2012/05/giant-lions-and-insipid-lunch.html

Sunday, 6 May 2012. Giant lions and insipid lunch. Well here is the story http:/ www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17915318. That made me say 'ooh let's go to Chatsworth this weekend! So we set out ignoring the fact it is Bank Holiday weekend and there was a massive jam at Bakewell (talking of jam I made the strawberry variety this weekend having tried the weightwatcher's version and decided, never again.), and arrived. Chatsworth. Shop as my folksy shop is slowly becoming empty. And here are pictures of them. Wwwch...

Cherry Tree: little things

http://cherrytreehandmades.blogspot.com/2012/02/little-things.html

Saturday, 11 February 2012. I have been inspired by the small, humble and far less than perfect. But sort of amusing. I have taken one of my doodly drawings and turned it into an aceo for folksy. I think when you don't think about trying too hard, then what you are supposed to achieve happens more naturally. Hence I am much happier working with scraps and bits and pieces that are recycled, chucked out etc. I am also doing a little bit of patchwork too. Ah well. It was never going to make me rich. 11 Febr...

Tuesday, 10 April 2012. And then rework it again which is how my roses aceo turned out. But I have been using some amazon packaging to paint on too as I like the idea of using discarded materials and have been inspired by Hundertwasser. This guy does some amazing work and pretty much broke the rules every which way to produce something fresh, colourful and fantastically timeless. And while this is great I wanted to work with memories and imagination. I just don't have the space to hang on to things but e...
