For Serious: If You'll Just Fill This Out In Triplicate
http://robinisforserious.blogspot.com/2010/06/if-youll-just-fill-this-out-in.html
Sunday, June 13, 2010. If You'll Just Fill This Out In Triplicate. A month or so ago I made a semi-conscious decision to start writing more. Upon reading The Happiness Project. Of course the two of us would run television into the ground, since all the programming would be cult-and-critical favorites, the kind of stuff we love, and there would be absolutely no According to Jim. For Serious: October 2009
http://robinisforserious.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 11, 2009. Fall Travels, Part One: A California Wedding. Or the brilliant leaves I found in Virginia? I want to walk through the trees and crunch dead leaves underfoot, damn it. Or throw open my windows to let in the brisk air while I bake an apple pie from perfectly ripe seasonal fruit. WHERE are my Granny Smith apples? It may be affecting my mood. And several memorable trips. My favorite memories from the weekend:. My new sister-in-law telling me how glad she was that I was her new siste...

For Serious: April 2009
http://robinisforserious.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 10, 2009. About a million people I know have long weekends for Passover and/or Easter this weekend. Not me. Nope. Because I am neither a student nor a teacher (nor working for an organization affiliated with religion in any way, shape, or form). I think I'm going to go buy some damn Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs or something now. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Check out my pics. Tales From 2 Wandering Souls. View my complete profile.

For Serious: Whatta world
http://robinisforserious.blogspot.com/2010/06/whatta-world.html
Sunday, June 6, 2010. A novel by Jo Nesbo that I picked up after Marisa reviewed it on Word Herd Leader. She's become my go-to source for reading material, which is quite handy. I haven't got very far in the story yet, but I'm enjoying the Norwegian McNultyesque Harry Hole and the flashbacks to WWII. It does make me realize, however, just how ignorant I am about history, and I may have to pick up some nonfiction WWII reading after this. Which brings me to something I'm very much looking forward to. I...

For Serious: Gonna Make a Pie With a Heart in the Middle
http://robinisforserious.blogspot.com/2010/07/gonna-make-pie-with-heart-in-middle.html
Friday, July 23, 2010. Gonna Make a Pie With a Heart in the Middle. Bake us in a delicious pie! So I hauled out my trusty Betty Crocker cookbook, which is a little odd at times when you're looking for actual meals but is pretty fail-safe when it comes to dessert, and found the recipe. It called for six cups of blueberries, which was pretty much the entire giant carton I had. It seemed like an awful lot for one pie, but I shrugged and followed along. Mmmm, pie dough. Much prettier in its raw format. At wh...

For Serious: Fun With Mom
http://robinisforserious.blogspot.com/2010/07/fun-with-mom.html
Sunday, July 18, 2010. It's been a good week. After the main show ended - with a very moving version of "You've Got a Friend" - Carole and James came back onstage for two encores. One of them included a duet of "Up On the Roof," which I had never realized was written by Carole King. It was wonderful, and we had very good seats thanks to my mom. On Thursday I had to work again, and once again I was very tired, so afterward I came home and relaxed with my mom. We watched Say Anything. Check out my pics.

For Serious: A is for Alcohol
http://robinisforserious.blogspot.com/2011/03/is-for-alcohol.html
Sunday, March 27, 2011. A is for Alcohol. In the throes of serious heartburn, I have decided to issue a moratorium on alcohol consumption for the workweek ahead. This moratorium is, of course, only applicable to me. I have to say that I feel some slight sense of admiration for those people stoic or stubborn enough to withstand daily drinking for longer than the span of a holiday weekend. Clearly I am not one of those people. Obviously, if it is there, I will drink it. To my discomfort. Check out my pics.

For Serious: May 2009

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Always Follow the Instructions on the Bottle: A lesson on the dangers of vanity and impatience. I thought proudly. I actually planned ahead! I will start building my tan a week before my trip to Dallas. I can wear tank tops and skirts and I won't look like a big lump of raw dough! The next day I woke up and my underarms were a little itchy, and I thought, I probably need to be more careful and not get any lotion under those. Now my neck and chest look like a normal person's again, ...

For Serious: March 2011

Thursday, March 31, 2011. Things to Feel Good About in a Downer Week. Starting on Sunday I got knocked on my ass by a wicked chest cold. Usually my illness follows the same pattern: scratchy throat, post nasal drip (yuck, sorry), then after a night of (not great) sleep I wake up and BOOM! So, you ask, where are the things to feel good about? 160;Im getting to them. I know. Im long-winded. Here goes:. Sunday, March 27, 2011. A is for Alcohol. Just as I enjoyed the Dos Equis and scotch-and-Diet Coke at Mag...

For Serious: 'Cause I wanna be neat and tidy!
http://robinisforserious.blogspot.com/2010/07/cause-i-wanna-be-neat-and-tidy.html
Saturday, July 10, 2010. Cause I wanna be neat and tidy! Thank god for visitors. For serious. If it weren't for the threat of social/parental ostracism, there are areas of my apartment that I would never clean. I'd be moving out and suddenly discover nooks and crannies that haven't been disturbed in four years. That's the sad truth. Here's a picture (no, I did not do anything to make this look worse than it was). Above you can see my huge empty closet. And a helpful closeup of the dirty floor. Ew.
