Traveling answers questions you never thought to ask". Friday, January 11, 2013. Guatemala was an unbelievably nice surprise to us! It is very different from the rest of Central America and has so much to offer in the interior that it doesn't need to rely on beach destinations as a draw. Our first stop was Antigua. We have never seen a dog and cat play like that. Antigua is a beautiful colonial town (our favorite on the trip) with lots of good restaurants and boutique shops. Also popular are their masks.

Traveling answers questions you never thought to ask". Saturday, June 30, 2012. At the end of our 2nd day touring Petra we were fortunate enough to cross paths with a mother/daughter duo who had also stayed at the Bedouin camp and we shared a taxi south to Aqaba and crossed the border to Eilat, Israel. Israel wasn't in the plan until our good friend David Pure (aka EZ) told us we had to go since we were so close. Thanks EZ, you were right! The courtyard of a funky little place we stayed in Eilat. Traveling answers questions you never thought to ask". Saturday, July 28, 2012. South Africa - Garden Route. We'll be spending 1 month in your beautiful lands. Thus far, we have spent 2 weeks in S.A. and are finding it incredible yet very complex. From a geographic perspective, it's extremely beautiful. Each region we visit is different from the next. It's similar to a blend between California and New Zealand. Spectacular! Most of the homes and accommodations don't have Central heat and air and only a fe...

Traveling answers questions you never thought to ask". Sunday, May 27, 2012. Tea time in Sri Lanka. The average fee for the local bus is about $1.15 a ticket for a 2-3 hour trip. It's a good deal with the small caveat that they never turn away a passenger and it's not uncommon to be in a bus designed to hold 46 passengers carrying 70. 50 cent masala dosa. Then we were lucky enough to see a parade that happens very rarely celebrating 2 Buddhist Monks becoming Priests. From Nuwara Eliya we changed our mode...

Traveling answers questions you never thought to ask". Saturday, October 27, 2012. Upon arrival into Quito, our friend, Phil Ovalle, picked us up at the airport, drove us around the "old" city and took us to dinner. What a wonderful way to start an adventure in a counrty! Angie and Phil used to work together at two different companies but hadn't spoken in quite some time. Out of nowhere, Phil emailed Angie two weeks before our arrival into Ecuador and said he moved to Quito. What? On our third day in Ecu...
