Ramblings of a worker on the move: Spring? They call THIS spring?

http://workingtraveler.blogspot.com/2010/04/spring-they-call-this-spring.html

Ramblings of a worker on the move. Wednesday, April 14, 2010. They call THIS spring? I know, different places in the world have different climates. Put so far, this must have been the oddest spring of all! Spring; the time of year where after a cold winter, you open up every window in your house to let the fresh new air in. Where the grayness is replaced by blooming flowers, and the temperature rices a little again. But not here in Georgia. And well, I can imagine a worse color than yellow.

Ramblings of a worker on the move: Slow Cooker Convert

http://workingtraveler.blogspot.com/2010/02/slow-cooker-convert.html

Ramblings of a worker on the move. Friday, February 26, 2010. Don't get spoiled now, yes, 2 blogs in 2 days. But I just have to report on the slow cooking. Last night I set of into a new culinary adventure, slow cooking. 2/3rd requirement, slowcooker on low, and off to work; not much later than usual. Seems even when additional preparation is required, with a little thinking ahead, it doesn’t require getting out of bed any earlier. ( 1). Was anybody keeping score? February 26, 2010 at 9:36 PM.

http://workingtraveler.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Ramblings of a worker on the move. Sunday, January 31, 2010. There and back again. I'm back in the U S of A. Yes, I've been gone for a little. Back to the Netherlands for 4 weeks around Christmas and New Years'. Just a short trip. Catching up the family, and with the colleagues at work. And while the snow was 8inches/20cm back in NL, here, the sun is shining over the green grass. (Okey, the trees are leafless here too). It has become a small world. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Ramblings of a worker on the move: Pursuing housing

http://workingtraveler.blogspot.com/2010/07/pursuing-housing.html

Ramblings of a worker on the move. Monday, July 12, 2010. Those who follow this blog for a while now, might remember how I blogged about that it takes a car to get one. Back then, I decided not to pursue any housing yet. Now, 9 months of living in something much like a fancy hotel room later, I had gathered enough courage to try again. The first, furthest away, was a small townhouse, cramped in, and had cow's heads to open the kitchen closets. And was the most expensive we intended to look at. They did h...

Blocking | Knitting Yards

https://knittingyards.wordpress.com/blocking

Lifelines step by step. Now a days, socks are often blocked on special sock blockers. The blockers are shaped like flat socks, automatically forming the sock into the right shape while it dries. The only thing to watch out for is that the blocker can handle the moisture. There are a lot of very pretty wooden ones. Out there, but those are better used to display socks. I usually try to use round, cheap cord) or blocking wires. One method is to pin it to a mattress or carpet. Usually lace dries pretty ...

Russian Join | Knitting Yards

https://knittingyards.wordpress.com/russian-join

Lifelines step by step. In order to create a Russian Join, you need 2 ends of yarn, and a sharp needle. You really want a sharp needle, though with a big enough eye that the yarn will fit through. Cross the two ends like so:. Thread one end into the sharp needle. Then you thread the needle back through the same end of yarn for about 2 inches(5 cm). Don’t forget to make sure the second thread is inside the loop you create. Then you do the same with the other thread. Make sure you tighten both sides up.

Lifelines step by step. Lifelines step by step. As I mentioned in my September 17th post, All about Lifelines, lifelines are used frequently by some, shunned by others, and unknown to yet others. But a lifeline is really a good tool to have in your arsenal. What is a lifeline, and what is it’s purpose? The best place to insert a lifeline is when you are getting to a row that has few or no yarn overs and decreases. It just makes it easier when you have to go back and pick up the stitches. If it looks like...

Completely done | Knitting Yards

Lifelines step by step. Laquo; I did it! November 29, 2014 by knittingyards. I realized that it has been a few weeks, but for good reason. My poor DS1 did not have a single sweater to put on when the weather turned cold over the last couple of weeks. What is a knitting mommy supposed to do? Knit him one of course! It has warmed up now, of course, but when it gets cold (Texas standards anyway…😉 ), he will have a sweater. The pattern is this aran sweater. A sneak peak of my next project? Enter your email ...

Lifelines step by step. Autumn is almost here. Just a little Dress. February 9, 2015 by knittingyards. A couple of months ago, I left you with a little teaser. Do you remember? The yarn and pattern was given to me by a dear friend. Now, being who I am, I hardly ever follow a pattern to the letter, especially if I appear to run into some challenges. What pattern you ask? It has a name that is a little hard to remember or pronounce. It is called UKHKA 73. On September 21, 2015 at 10:38 am. Enter your email...

Lifelines step by step. Laquo; Towel Toppers. November 11, 2014 by knittingyards. I have been intending on publishing some of my patterns. I finally published the first one. It is the Little Black Cat. I am both excited and scared… :D. Based on the amount of time it took to write it up and figure out how to make it work, I am asking $2 for the pattern. Lifelines step by step. Laquo; Some Squares. November 4, 2014 by knittingyards. I do not blog very often about projects I crochet. I do however know how to do it, as some of you might remember from a post almost a year ago, where I showed you the Swan Doily. So, after a little study, I copied the topper, found a nice cotton towel and a gorgeous couple of buttons. Their kitchen is dark wood and black, so those were the colors I chose. And here is the result:. On November 7, 2014 at 11:56 pm. Join 245 othe...

Blocking | Knitting Yards

https://knittingyards.wordpress.com/2015/01/28/blocking

Lifelines step by step. Laquo; Completely done. Just a little Dress. January 28, 2015 by knittingyards. About 3 or so years ago, I was asked about my blocking method. I started an explanation at that time, but between trying to figure out how to explain it clearly, and birthing 2 daughters (15 months apart) I sort of got side tracked. A comment I received today reminded me. I have attempted to finish it. It is listed as a separate page. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. And a few more.

Writings by Anarchists, Socialists, Feminists and Dreamers, translated from the French. Friday, January 30, 2015. Ernest Lesigne, Socialistic Letters — IX (1881). Ten years ago, I wrote a study from which emerged the somewhat unexpected conclusion that every error is, as well as every truth, the product of experiment. So I simply say this to the collectivists:. You have concluded without having seen enough. Doubtless we just saw it aped, that nobility of days gone by, by an aristocracy of the leather bre...
