Writerious: Critique Circle - So far, not bad
http://writerious.blogspot.com/2007/01/critique-circle-so-far-not-bad.html
Exploring the mysteries of the writing life. Wednesday, January 17, 2007. Critique Circle - So far, not bad. There was a time, in the golden long-ago of publishing, when a fresh new author who showed sufficient talent might be nurtured along by a good editor who, in those halcyon days, actually edited. So who helps the author edit the manuscript? Not what they're paid for. So who gets to edit your priceless prose? You do, author. One that I decided to try out and report on is Critique Circle. Variety)...

Exploring the mysteries of the writing life. Friday, June 15, 2007. A pity when one gets too busy and blogging falls by the wayside. It's not like I haven't been writing these past months. I have, indeed - an entire dissertation's worth of writing (which can be read here. I've also got a nibble from a publisher on a new children's science book. It looks promising, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Recommended Books for Writers. The First Five Pages. By Harol...

Literati Illuminations: November 2006
http://literatilluminations.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Books, Reading, Writing, Authors: The Joy of the Written Word. Tuesday, November 21, 2006. It was the eve of the eve of his death by murder and there was harmonica music on the air when E.O. Smonk rode the disputed mule over the railroad tracks and up the hill to the hotel where his trial would be. Unless, like in Smonk. The imagery is so violent that the images can be disturbing to people who may focus more on that than on the gorgeously crafted prose that makes up every single page from start to finish.
