Thoughts on Scripture and life, from a small church pastor. Exploring what it means, that everyone needs the Good Shepherd. Thursday, January 17, 2013. During my daily readings this morning, I found myself reading this verse from the book of Job:. Job 1:1 “I have made a covenant with my eyes. How then could I look at a young woman? Did this mean Job never looked at young women? What about his own daughters when they were young women? What about young women in the marketplace? How did he avoid them? This ...

Thoughts on Scripture and life, from a small church pastor. Exploring what it means, that everyone needs the Good Shepherd. Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Last week I wrestled with God. I lost. I guess that is not surprising. After all, if you could beat God at wrestling, He wouldn't be much of a God now would He? We were wrestling about His calling on my life. I had attended a great event on Sunday evening, that featured among other artists, the group. And what a ride it was! POUR ME OUT FOR YOUR GLORY!

Thoughts on Scripture and life, from a small church pastor. Exploring what it means, that everyone needs the Good Shepherd. Wednesday, July 27, 2011. We are currently going over basic doctrines at our Bible study on Wednesday nights. Tonight we will finish up studying the incarnation. This has been one of the most enjoyable for me to teach so far. It has really got my brain and imagination spinning. Was He ever made fun of as a child? How often did the One who spoke the sun into existence get sunburned?

Thoughts on Scripture and life, from a small church pastor. Exploring what it means, that everyone needs the Good Shepherd. Wednesday, May 6, 2015. THE CALL TO PREACH. For me, it has never been a question of whether or not I was called to preach the gospel. The question has been instead, have I always answered the call to preach the gospel. But the call to preach was not the only call that I heard during those years. The world was calling too. Romans 11:29, ". God’s gracious gifts and calling. In other w...

Thoughts on Scripture and life, from a small church pastor. Exploring what it means, that everyone needs the Good Shepherd. Monday, June 17, 2013. SOME THOUGHTS ON PSALM 63. During my daily readings today in Psalm 63 I had several thoughts come to mind, and since it has been a long, long time since my last post, I thought that it would be a good time to fire up the old blog and begin to share what the Lord gives me during my daily readings. Psalm 63:1 "O True God, You are my God, the One whom I trust.

Thoughts on Scripture and life, from a small church pastor. Exploring what it means, that everyone needs the Good Shepherd. Tuesday, January 15, 2013. The last few weeks have been unlike any others in my life. I cannot fully describe it, only to say that I have felt revived in my relationship with the Lord in a way like never before. I feel fired up, yet humbled down. I see the grace of God more clearly, and yet am aware of the depth of my sin more deeply. I see time differently. But I am afraid. I know ...

Thoughts on Scripture and life, from a small church pastor. Exploring what it means, that everyone needs the Good Shepherd. Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Daniel was a man of strong conviction, one who saw the big picture and could see beyond his circumstances and the immediate future. As such, I believe Daniel not only was allowed to see visions from God, but that he had a personal vision.he could see clearly that the world around him was not all that there was. There are more than one Hebrew word that has be...

Thoughts on Scripture and life, from a small church pastor. Exploring what it means, that everyone needs the Good Shepherd. Monday, August 15, 2011. HAS JESUS REALLY CHANGED YOUR LIFE? Some of these books have been: “Crazy Love” by Francis Chan; “Radical” by David Platt; “Not A Fan” by Kyle Idleman. Most recently I have just finished the novel, “Courageous” by Randy Alcorn. How can you stay the same after you have encountered the “crazy love” of Jesus? How could you ever be just a “fan” and n...And how c...
