Zikomo's overarching purpose is to try and break the perpetual poverty trap in southern Malawi by assisting communities get on the first rung on the ladder of economic development and be able to support themselves and their families without the need for humanitarian aid. Zikomo, meaning thank you in Chichewa, is an organisation set up by Kate Chedburn and Jenifer McMillan in 2008.
