UV-B is the "burning ray" and tanning beds only include this UV to make the bed work properly. Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Is there any way to stop/alleviate bowel damage due to this? I have been taking codeine 30mg, for over 10 years due to the pain of 'endometriosis' and have suffered with the associated bowel problems because of this. I have only been able to cut down on the codeine when pregnant, ( my doctor warned against stopping completely, as withdrawal may cause miscarriage). I'm scared that I've caused irreversible damage, what can I do. Codeine phoshate causes constipation a known side affect.
