Saturday, May 31, 2014. That bike birthday was four years ago now, and we haven't been able to coax Pepper onto a bike, even one with training wheels. He has tried a few times, but hasn't been able to get himself to even try to ride. He has burst into tears every time. The afternoon was not without frustration. It was not without tears and wailing. It was not without outbursts of anger ("My dumb legs just can't understand what to do! He rode his 2-wheeler with no training wheels! Monday, May 19, 2014.

Thursday, October 31, 2013. Baby # 6 will be Baby GIRL #5! Tremendously excited. Yes, even Pepper is excited. He secretly admitted to me later that he wasn't really excited about giving up his spot as the only boy in the family. He's thrilled to welcome another sister, and has vowed to protect her with his life. So precious! So now, off I go to start stocking up on cute little pink and lavender clothes for my coming daughter! Wednesday, October 30, 2013. I am so excited! The rest of us are wearing pink.

Saturday, July 27, 2013. After 7 weeks of travel, we are safely home. I am happy to see my kitties and to sleep in my own bed tonight. I am also happy that I did all the laundry at my cousin's house before. We came home, which means no laundry to do! It's good to be HOME! Thursday, July 11, 2013. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Thursday, November 28, 2013. There is so much in my life to be thankful for. I feel like every year I have more to be thankful for. Maybe it's because I'm maturing. Maybe it's because I'm always on the lookout for opportunities to be thankful. Maybe it's because there truly is more to be thankful for. Whatever the case, I'm overflowing. Not just today, but every day. On this Thanksgiving, I'm especially thankful for:. The baby girl growing in me. The adoption of our three daughters. John and Lori, dear f...

Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Last Day of School. You're growing up too fast! Last day of 1st grade for Sunny. She definitely struggled in school this year. There's still a possibility she will repeat 1st grade next year. It's what I want.what I'm pushing for. It would most definitely be in her best interest. I plan to work with her quite a bit this summer, in case my appeal is rejected and she has to go on to 2nd grade before she's ready. Pepper made Principal's Honor Roll (all A's). Great job, Pepper! So of...

Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Our little Sweet Pea is two months old. I can't believe how fast. These months have gone. So much faster than the last two months of my pregnancy, that's for sure! I'm convinced there has never been a sweeter, happier, easier baby. This little girl is the pride and joy and delight of our whole family. We all adore her and are cherishing every moment of her babyhood. Thank you, God, for this precious gift! Sunday, June 15, 2014. To my wonderful daddy, Jim, Happy Father's Day!

Saturday, September 28, 2013. Snapper had a swim meet this morning. She had a persistent side cramp (since yesterday afternoon) and swam very poorly. She came home feeling down and discouraged. And then she remembered that the best way to snap yourself out of a funk is to do something for another person. She came to me and said:. Mom, you do so much for me every day and you deserve a rest. Please rest and relax today and leave the house to me. In the last 2 hours, Snapper has. Cycled 2 loads of laundry.

Tuesday, August 27, 2013. I spent the better part of the first week of school thoroughly assessing Bubbles so I would know exactly how to tailor her education to meet her needs. She's on target in some areas, and dreadfully behind in others. Here's what we're doing. 3rd grade math, which she gets with almost no effort. 3rd grade history, her favorite subject. Kindergarten phonics/spelling (The Spalding Method). High focus on art. Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Update: It Has Been a While. Matt is crazy busy w...
