The life and times of "The Mighty B". Saturday, February 20, 2010. My foster daddy worries too much! He thinks I might leave one day and never come back. He's right! One thing in life is guaranteed. We will all leave one day and never come back! So what else is there to worry about? I'm hungry and I just shit my pants - AGAIN! Good thing daddy is here to clean up the mess. Where are we now? That is "where we are now! Will there be a happy ending? Will all the sacrifices Mommy and I have made be worth it?

The life and times of "The Mighty B". Friday, November 6, 2009. Monday, November 2nd. It's my first official day of unemployment and I am getting the house ready for the return of Braden! I received a phone call today saying there was a court hearing in the morning and, at least a possibility that Braden might need a foster home. Our social worker said to me; "Kip, are you ready? Braden is returning to our lives again and what happens next is anyone's guess. What happens now is a bit more obvious!

Interesting to think about but what exactly is he trying to say? If I separate myself enough from the situation, I get these fleeting glimpses of another view. That view looks down upon two people who stop asking why and start asking "what if? What if Braden was never meant to stay? What if we only thought we were nurturing him. What if it was. Who was nurturing us?

The life and times of "The Mighty B". Saturday, February 20, 2010. Where are we now? HERE" is the answer I am supposed to give. It's the answer this little boy wants and it's certainly the one he deserves. Truth is though, it's not always that easy. In the meantime, we continue to take care of Braden. We wake up at 4 am, change diapers, feed, clean, nurture and hope. We do all this because we are foster parents. We do it because Braden deserves it! That is "where we are now!
