Today we went with the DeWitts to hike to "The Living Room," where people have arranged slabs of sandstone into sofas, chairs and ottomans for hikers to relax and enjoy an incredible view of Salt Lake City. Once again, the guides say it's a family friendly hike, but whew it was steep! But, once we got to the Living Room it was worth it! Almost to the top!

I like snow as much as the next girl, but I really hate being cold, and dreaded the thought of close to 5 months being spent indoors. Well, our first big snow came last night and so far I have been pleasantly surprised! What we saw our our front door this morning. Shay showing R how to knock snow off of leaves.

No, I don't know why it's spelled with a C instead of an S, but you know it's killing me to spell it incorrectly :) ). Little man started out the hike on foot. But soon decided riding on daddy's back was the way to go. About half way up. Still some snow on the mountains! We found the secret lake! The best part of hiking?

Sunday, September 26, 2010. Mason was baptized today at Westminster Presbyterian Church and I honestly couldn't have asked for a more special and beautiful day. Thank you so much to our families who traveled to Greenville to share in this moment with us - we appreciate it so much! And, Mason didn't cry! I think he may have made his new funny face while we were up at the front of the church (he has this new face he makes that looks like an old man without any teeth), but other than that he did great!

Sunday, March 13, 2011. We took Mason to the Greenville Zoo today and as you will see from the pictures, I'm just not sure what he thought about it all! Once we got home and were replaying a video we took of the crazy monkeys and showing Mason pictures of the giraffes he was laughing and pointing so maybe the initial "introduction" was a bit of a shock to him and the next time we go he'll be able to relax and have some fun! He couldn't take his eyes off the loud, silly monkeys. Taking a quick stroll/ride.

Show All 365 Days. Day 365 1: September 26, 2005 - End of the Road. Just to be on the safe side, we spent an extra day in Zion. The views from the Kolob Reservoir Road are fantastic, and not often travelled on. It's also a great jumping off point for day hikes, overnights, or access to the Subway. Sorting through all of our thousands of photos to find some to put up on this blog was the first round to identifying photos for a book project. Hopefully it won't take as long for stage 2!
