USS Horizon 3D Model

A non-canon interpretation of the classic Trek ship. The USS Horizon model was created by Joel Lane from the parts of the USS Mandalay. And original parts. Horizon textures by Joel Lane. The original Mandalay model was influenced by John Payne's. Wonderful pictures of the USS Reeses. The Horizon model was made available by Joel for download. You can do anything you want with it, and are not required to plaster any of those obnoxious credits all over your beautiful renders.

My model of the Baton-Rouge Class is based on a picture in the old Star Trek Spaceflight Chronology. Book (1980) by Stan and Fred Goldstein illustrated by Rick Sternbach. Here is my attempt at recreating the ship. Obviously I had to take poetic license for the underside. :-). Built using Hexagon 2, textured using Paintshop Pro 7, rendered in Poser 6.

USS Mandalay 3D Model

The Mandalay class design falls between the Daedalus class of the 2150's and the Constitution class of the 2240's. The cylindrical engineering hull remains basically the same as the Daedalus', but the simple spherical hull has been enlarged, flattened and streamlined and now more closely resembles the familiar saucer of the Constitutions.
