50kmh.orgThe 30-50 Initiative
It could be argued that increased radar control and police enforcement are effective ways of slowing down speeding cars, or reducing car accidents involving pedestrians and cyclists. This is an invalid argument, a wishful belief. Radars are ineffective, as their effect on speed is narrow and localized. And more policing is not necessary, quite the contrary, as police forces attention is centered on drivers and cars, not pedestrian safety. Join the 30-50 initiative. Can you see it?
