Like us on Facebook. Day 67 - Vesuvius to Charlottseville. Still, we arrived safe in Charlottesville the home of the Virginia University started by Thomas Jefferson in the early 1800's. The original buildings are World Heritage listed and still house students today. Beautiful setting. We also went "down town" which is an historic area with pedestrian access only and many shops, restaurants and bars to browse. Well worth a longer visit but we have 2 days to finish . How is that for coincidence/karma?

At about the halfway point, with the sag wagon lost, the team rode into Sugar Grove and discovered a hot dog sizzle going on to raise funds for the local community. Great hotdogs topped with chilli, onions, relish and mustard washed down with a coke and finished with a doughnut. Who needs performance enhancing drugs when you have this as a lunch pick-me-up.
