Joel — Aware. Site info and credits. Vermont College of Fine Art. The transformation of VCFA.edu. Began with a complete re-designed branding, strategy and discovery phase to further enhance VCFA’s messaging and identity. From there, site wireframes were produced along with content models which showed the relationships between page types, layout and user interaction. For this to work, the module was built on the back of Drupal’s Library API module. Project contributors: Alex Budnitz.

Joel — Aware. Site info and credits. Senior Designer and follow co-worker, Alex Budnitz, had requested my developer skills in churning out a portfolio/archive site to display his fine work throughout the years of his established career. The presented layout and UI of the theme was simple to markup and display solely through CSS. There were very few images to use for the theme (if any), keeping the site bare bones and reliant on CSS, with fallbacks for cross-browser support. There were probably a few ways...

VCFA Campaign Microsite | JAZFX
http://jazfx.com/vcfa-campaign-microsite
Joel — Aware. Site info and credits. The VCFA campaign micro site, was a relatively small WordPress build in terms of strategy and content. Since the main purpose of the site is primarily used as a tool to generate donations and interest from prospective and current students, we were able to focus more time into our budget towards development and presentation. Transitions are CSS based where jQuery is used only to toggle active states. A simple, but effective (and fun) build.

Joel — Aware. Site info and credits. After launching the MIT2030 site. It was time to begin working on Capital Projects, a portfolio-esque collection of developments in and around the MIT campus in Cambridge MA (with one stray project in Holyoke). Was used as part of the site’s markup and served as a great reference for our layout. By adhering to the static pixel dimensions of the grid, the transition from UI to design to development was a pretty smooth process. Project contributors: Alex Budnitz.

Joel — Aware. Site info and credits. Initially, my first responsive design build out created at Sametz. I used a small CSS framework called bluCSS. Which as I write this, I notice the link to this framework is just a redirect to a blog post about it), before bootstrap or foundation became the centerpieces for responsive CSS frameworks, as they are now. It was an honor to cut the banner, taking part of the first responsive digital campaign albeit a small one at the Blackstone.
