Musings from Big Pink: Spring Angles
http://musingsfrombigpink.blogspot.com/2015/03/spring-angles.html
Musings from Big Pink. Saturday, March 21, 2015. I am in the process of designing a plane body for a custom profile, dedicated plane that I will make this week. I was sent the following image from the customer and we're trying to come up with a plane design that will create the profile. Take note of the bead above: it's a full 180 degrees. If he decides to have this full bead in the final profile then the plane must not be sprung. A few frequently asked questions:. Q How do you make dedicated planes?

Furnitology Productions: WoodExpo 2012 Starts
http://furnitology.blogspot.com/2012/02/woodexpo-2012-starts.html
Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Today: February 22, 2012 is drop-off day for WoodExpo2012. Unfortunately for me, I’m on injured reserve and will miss the weekend festivities. I’m bumming but the guys have it under control. I’ll watch via the content that comes out and no doubt I’ll get my share of text messages to keep me abreast. This will be the second year where we’ve opened up the exhibition to those woodworkers who desire to show there work and move out of the woodworking gadfly category.

When I started this hobby I never anticipated being bent over a pile of fire bricks in my driveway at dusk with a blowtorch in my hand and a pot of peanut oil at my side. That wasn't my intention, but it's where the hobby lead. (Check out Larry Williams' Dvd. And, though the step may be intimidating, it's simple with the process he describes. But, I digress.). Let this video be a demo...
