Living the Lewis Lifestyle: February 2015
http://lewislifestyle.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 23, 2015. The 1960's School Desk Project. Around Christmas time I got my hands on a 1960's school desk, graciously given to me by one of Chris' cousins. I have had it sitting in the school room at our house since then. Today I finished my project of cleaning it up, and spiffing it up. Not the exact desk; mine was in better condition, but I didn't take a "before" picture, oops. Desk - hand-me-down, $0. Spray paint - already in garage, $0. Stain - already in garage, $0. My Top 5 DIY Tips.

Living the Lewis Lifestyle: April 2015
http://lewislifestyle.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 23, 2015. While things are wildly unpredictable in our household lately, it's nice to know (and see) progress is being made on our new house. Sanity is a distant light slowly growing bigger and brighter. Though, I emphasize s l o w l y. This will pick up sooner than I can imagine, at least that is my bet. Seeing as I have never built a house before, this is just my best guess. Here is our progress thus far:. Lost cleared and leveled. I will be so happy when there is an actual foundation!

Living the Lewis Lifestyle: Avenida Building
http://lewislifestyle.blogspot.com/2015/06/avenida-building.html
Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Framing the 2nd story. Plywood covering and window installation. More windows and roof installation. I think most of the progress will be made from the inside for awhile, until the brick and stone work. I cannot express to you how happy I am to finally see a house sitting there! Here is some more house/lot pictures I have been fiddling around with. Here is our house superimposed onto the google maps lot. Our current house is still under contract (yay! Hahaha, I know, I know.).

Living the Lewis Lifestyle: An Adult Tantrum
http://lewislifestyle.blogspot.com/2015/06/an-adult-tantrum.html
Tuesday, June 23, 2015. I feel like having a tantrum. So bear with me, or move on.no hard feelings. ;). Every time I get on the internet there is always some group "setting the tone" of where we should stand, of what we should all think. If you disagree with their platform you are heckled and given cyber eye-rolls and asterisk sighs. You might even get one of my favorite responds "omg. I just can even right now.". That is always a favorite in a mature debate. Oktantrum over. Thanks. 8594; Supplement Blog.

Living the Lewis Lifestyle: Kingsmill Days Numbered
http://lewislifestyle.blogspot.com/2015/07/kingsmill-days-numbered.html
Monday, July 6, 2015. This very well might be my last entry from the Kingsmill territory. I feel pretty on top of things right now.but it is only Monday. I have already packed most of our things. I am waiting for Wednesday evening to pack most things.mainly kitchen things. I will even unplug the refrigerator/freezer then and allow it to defrost in time for the movers to arrive bright and early Friday morning. I do hope between the apartment space and garage we can make it all work. Http:/ lewis-lifestyle...

Living the Lewis Lifestyle: Custom Headboard...on a Budget
http://lewislifestyle.blogspot.com/2012/06/custom-headboardon-budget.html
Monday, June 11, 2012. Custom Headboard.on a Budget. Ok, so here I am again, to add to my usual pattern. Topics of Blog entries:. So yes, I am now updating with a "house project" entry. :). So as you remember. So I had a problem. Queen bed, no queen frame; full frame, no full bed. So, after mulling it over for a couple hours, I decided it was more financially sound to keep the queen bed, store the full frame, and go buy a queen frame. So I thought of a couple different options. For a queen size bed (60in...

Living the Lewis Lifestyle: Old is New...With Some Work
http://lewislifestyle.blogspot.com/2012/07/old-is-newwith-some-work.html
Sunday, July 8, 2012. Old is New.With Some Work. Ok, I will start off by saying, this project tired me out. It was probably the fact I had to do 70% of the work in the disgustingly hot garage, but there were definitely other aspects that added to my frustration. Though, I can say now, as I sit in the house with the AC going, it was worth it. So my "guest room":. They don't stock 4in handles. Anywhere. So.do I special order handles or install a new size? I'll decide that in a minute. 8594; Supplement Blog.

Living the Lewis Lifestyle: Between Kingsmill and Avenida
http://lewislifestyle.blogspot.com/2015/07/between-kingsmill-and-avenida.html
Thursday, July 16, 2015. Between Kingsmill and Avenida. You know that scene in Jurassic Park where Tim is in the smooshed SUV, stuck in the tree and Dr. Grant is leading them down before the falling car crushes them? They finally get to the ground and the car falls over on them, they are unharmed, but in the wrecked cab of the SUV again. Tim, exhausted, says: "Well, we're back in the car, again." Dr. Grant responds: "At least we're out of the tree.". What is my "Dr. Grant" response? I am thankful for a w...

Living the Lewis Lifestyle: May 2015
http://lewislifestyle.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 21, 2015. This is what my news feed looks like lately. This is almost daily. Just in 12 hrs.almost 2". That 20% is the lowest we've seen in some time! I hope it continues! You are reading this right. That's approaching the 5" mark. In February, we were in "exceptional drought" the highest level. Today, we are drought free.and flooding in every local lake. Why, oh why, did this rain even have to happen the spring we were supposed to be building our house? This rain has delayed things BIG TIME.
