My adventures, great and small. Friday, February 15. Yesterday we arrived at the NGO that we work at, and realized we'd gotten a little dirty from the red dirt on our way over. Alfred, the man who runs the grounds, led us to the kitchen and poured water over our hands as we rubbed them with soap. Me: I think I'm clean now. Alfred: (Pointing to the freckles and moles on my arm): What about those? Me: Oh, those are just part of my skin. I was born with them. They are like dots on my skin.

Wednesday, January 21, 2009. On New Years Eve We went to a Party with a bunch of friends from our ward. We had a really good time playing games, eating good food, and dancing! Here are a few pics from the night! Silas and Zach got fishing rods and a tackle box! Time for some fishin' I guess! Grandma Parkinson made Lydia her very own doll! Lydia couldn't help but hug Silas for her Hannah Montana doll and HSM doll! We finally got our own Wii! The kids each had to get their own remote of course!

Wednesday, June 25, 2008. It's time for another Recipe! Mix: 2 1/2 cups flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt. Cream: 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup sugar 1tsp vanilla 2 eggs. Add dry&wet alternating with 3/4 cup milk. Add 1 6oz pkg chocolate chips 1/2 cup walnuts. Grease a 9x13 pan bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. 1/2 cup melted butter. 2 cups powdered sugar. My adventures, great and small. Thursday, February 21. One week in Gulu. We have been in Gulu for one week and one day. I can't believe it has been so little time, when I feel so at home! My first full day in Gulu (last Thursday), I remember walking around the streets and telling Jenny that I have never been so keenly aware of my skin color. Here in Gulu, everyone is mostly African. We see maybe. I had taken notice of that detail as I wrote my field notes, but I'd forgotten about it soon thereafter.

We saw it all- monkeys, warthogs, antelope, elephants, babboons, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, water buffalo. We took hundreds of pictures, but here are a few:.
