LindsayDanielsPhotography: September 2012

September 28, 2012. Canada: Lower Half of Banff. Johnson Lake at Sunset, Banff National Park, Canada. Kayakers on Johnson Lake, Banff National Park, Canada. Clouds over Mount Rundle, Banff National Park, Canada. This is also a great place for bird watching, which I was hoping to do during the day. I stalked a blue heron for a large part of the day without much success. It was camera shy to say the least and I was definitely wishing I had a 500 mm lens at that point. Elk scars, Banff National Park, Canada.

July 30, 2012. I will definitely need my tripod. And I know there is going to be wildlife up there. Don't I need my zoom lens? Perhaps when I get everything packed up and on my back I'll be thinking otherwise. But I do. Want to shoot some night photos, and I know. There will be wildlife. I may have to choose between one or the other. Or maybe I can sacrifice some socks and underwear in order to bring both. Or maybe not. For now, this is how my pack list is looking:. Canon 5D Mark II. 32 GB of CF cards (6).

January 03, 2013. Location: Grand Canyon (Winter). View of Bright Angel Canyon from Yavapai Point, Grand Canyon National Park. It feels like forever since I've been on a proper road trip and the Grand Canyon has been calling my name for awhile. What better time to visit than the dead of winter? Broken light on the canyon walls, Grand Canyon National Park. Sunrise at Yavapai Point, Grand Canyon National Park. Afternoon light on the canyon walls below, Grand Canyon National Park. In this place doubt is imp...

Thursday, October 4, 2012. Boats, autumn, rivermen. All that remains of The Golden Star, a former steamer that was beached in 1955 at Springston. SPRINGSTON- If you motor up the Coeur d’Alene River from the lake it is best, if you’re a novice, to do it early in the summer before the water warms and weeds climb up, curl and wave like maiden hair from the depths, constricting the channel and choking the prop. A couple decades ago, even as late as the late 90s the men who skippered the steamers, working the...
