I happy to announce that i have joined an online community called the Daring Bakers! What is the Daring Bakers i hear you say? At the beginning of each month, a recipe is provided by that months host (pre-selected of course). Each daring baker must then attempt the recipe provided and blog about on a selected date at the end of the month. To date, i have attempted the following challenges:. November – Caramel Cake with Caramelised Butter Frosting. January – Tuiles (Fortune Cookies). Im a daring baker!

Daring Bakers February Challenge – Chocolate Valentino. Novelty 102 – Planet Cake Course. On: February 26, 2009. In: Cakes and Cupcakes. Another great workshop by Planet Cake. This time it was Novelty 102 where we made an island complete with a cute little pirate and treasure chest. I’m not sure if this was easier than Novelty 101. Or if it was because my skills are improving but it certainly was still a lot of fun and i got to have a go at airbrushing which was surprisingly easy. Island with Pirate Cake.

Daring Bakers February Challenge – Chocolate Valentino. Flourless Chocolate Mini Cakes. On: March 15, 2009. In: Cakes and Cupcakes. Another flourless recipe i know. But this one is really, really, really GOOD. Eat it hot if you can (but don’t burn yourself! Flourless Chocolate Mini Cakes. Flourless Chocolate Mini Cakes. 200g dark cooking chocolate, chopped. 160g butter, chopped. 5 eggs, separated. 1 1/2 cups almond meal. Pre-heat the oven to 170C (340 F). Spoon the mixture into lightly greased muffin tins.
