Faithfully Forming our Family: May 2012
http://williamsethiopianjourney.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
We officially have set plans and tickets booked for Ethiopia. We will be leaving on June 7th (which happens to be Kad's first "gotcha Day") and coming back on June 16th. We're flying Emirates Air from Seattle to Dubai, spending the night in Dubai, and arriving in Addis on June 9th. If all goes according to plan, we will be meeting "Y" for the first time that afternoon. I can't believe we'll be hugging "Y" next week. It still seems like a dream! June 7th can't get here soon enough! We have a COURT DATE!

How Great Is Our God: Dear Zoey (Letter #4)
http://brickerfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2011/04/dear-zoey-letter-4.html
Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Dear Zoey (Letter #4). I haven't been able to stop myself from thinking about you these last few days. There is that feeling again of someone missing. I have to count everyone, and they are all here, but still someone is not. It's an uneasy feeling. The first few times I felt that way, it was a little scary, until I figured out it was you. Will they get used to the change and grow and thrive? We are so close baby girl! So close. It's so hard to wait on other people to do th...

Friday, December 13, 2013. The kids were eating lunch the other day and suddenly there was a big commotion in the kitchen. I went in and found 3 very excited minions. Look what Charlotte did! I didn't even mean to! It even had the horn! IT EVEN HAS THE HORN! Sure enough- it even had the horn. Links to this post. Conversations with Charlotte and Caden. How Great Is Our God: Dear Zoey, (Letter #5)
http://brickerfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2011/05/dear-zoey-letter-4.html
Sunday, May 8, 2011. Dear Zoey, (Letter #5). This weekend was Mother's Day here and as much as I tried to focus on having a good time, I've been thinking about you and your first mommy alot this weekend. I wish you were in this picture, not wanting to stand still. I wish I knew your first mommy's name. "Birthmother" seems so formal and distant. While we are waiting on paperwork, is she writing your features in her memory? Trying to lock away how you smell, and how soft your little feet are? I hope you ar...

How Great Is Our God: March 2014
http://brickerfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 17, 2014. Be Still My Bleating Heart. The cousins got goats last week, and we went to visit. For being weird creatures to begin with, they sure are cute. They hop hop hop everywhere. Judah kept calling them "Ba" which is his word for dog. Or maybe he is just advanced and taught himself what goats say on the way over. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). How Great Is Our God: Dear Zoey,
http://brickerfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/dear-zoey.html
Saturday, January 1, 2011. I wanted to start a journal for you. I should have done it months ago. You will soon find that I am a procrastinator, and a very good one at that. This way I can add pictures and pretend that you can see them, wherever you are. And while I'm at it, I will pretend that it's just you and me-writing and reading, as if you can read right now, English, or anything for that matter. So here is my first letter to you. This is a new year for you baby girl! Just a warning, we are not ric...

http://brickerfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/dear-zoey-letter-6.html
Monday, June 6, 2011. Dear Zoey, (Letter #6). It is summer here, Six months since I wrote you first. And six months that we've been waiting on Daddy's work for one little piece of paper that is the only thing that now keeps this thing on hold. It is hot here finally. It seems like the tail of winter lingered forever and now it is sunny all the time and sticky. Daddy and I went on a date this weekend. Charlotte thought we were going to Africa. She asks about you every single day. So do I baby girl,.

Loving The Least Of These: Just Show Up
http://lovingtheleast.blogspot.com/2014/03/just-show-up.html
Friday, March 28, 2014. I was gently reminded of this last week as I spent time with a dear friend whose brother lost his battle with depression last month. There is no describing that kind of pain, honestly. As I drove through four states on my way to see her, I kept wondering how in the world to help her. What do you even say in circumstances where there are just no easy answers? How do you be a good friend when your heart can’t fathom what she must be feeling? Yet, we go anyway. I was talking last nig...
