Challenges, Treks and Adventures. Friday, 20 May 2011. Riding the Trans Europe Express - Munich to Venice! So three years ago now, a motley pair of Adventure Cafe leaders were en route from completing a Paris to Munich ride, to the start of an Alpine trek from the Col de la Bonnette to Nice through the. Alpes Maritimes. Purely by chance we opted for the Brenner Pass, and then into the Adige Valley. In Matrei, to help us up the last few km. Arriving at the Gasthof, we are all well and truly spent, and...

Challenges, Treks & Adventures: March 2014
http://adventure-cafe.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Challenges, Treks and Adventures. Monday, 24 March 2014. Cycling Through the Ages. When I was a nipper. I rode on a beaten up old Raleigh Shopper. I used to build ramps, do jumps, pull wheelies, generally try and pretend I had a BMX (which I was not rich enough to own). Unsurprisingly it broke, after a particularly daring and over ambitious leap through the air that Danny Mcaskill would have been proud of. Next I graduated to a Dawes Lightning, which was a beaut'! Called the 2 wheeled steed of my youth.

Challenges, Treks & Adventures: March 2015
http://adventure-cafe.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Challenges, Treks and Adventures. Wednesday, 25 March 2015. The Grand Tour of Somerset 2015. The funny thing with a longer day that I have found out, in 25 years of endurance challenges is that its never the first 60 miles that is the problem, its what follows that is the unknown. It's how you're going to feel in the final 45 miles that really matters. And, furthermore, if you're wondering how you're going to feel in miles 60 - 105, you're probably not quite prepared enough! May 8, 2016. May 8, 2016. Last year, my younger brother Joey abseiled down the Avon Gorge to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK. The rest of the family went along to support him and we had a jolly old time on the ground, being impressed by his daring and deliriously happy that it was him and not us. We discussed whether or not we’d ever attempt this challenge and unanimously agreed that we couldn’t possibly. Part of the reason for doing the climbing course last month. Am I nearly there yet…? I asked M...
