I was vacationing in Maine this week. Turns out my neighbor Mike was too. We both had our bikes and were both staying within an hour of North Conway New Hampshire.so we made a date this morning with the renowned Red Tail Trail. In North Conway NH. Aktuell sind Touren hier wahrlich kein Zuckerschlecken. Die Temperaturen erreichen zwar nicht die hohen Werte der letzten Zeit, aber dafür ist es seit Tagen durchweg schwül, was den Schnitt natürlich extrem nach unten drückt Dazu kommen die ganzen Insekten, die sich bei solch hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit in der gleichen Höhe bewegen, wie wir Radfahrer, was einen dazu bewegen sollte den Mund geschlossen zu halten. Was so manchem Protagonisten unterwegs auch ganz ohne Insekten gut zu Gesichte stehen würde .).

Bei der gestrigen Tour habe ich dann auch gleich mal meine neu erstandene Pearl Izumi Hose testen können, die ihren Dienst während der gesamten 187km tadellos verrichtet hat. Direkt von der Burg gelangt man in die wunderschöne Altstadt Gemens und wer ein wenig Zeit mitbringt, sollte sich in einem der dort ansässigen Lokalitäten bewirten lassen. Kai dachte sich auch: Sicher ist sicher! Von Weseke sind es nur noch ein paar Kilometer nach Oeding, wo Kai und ich die Grenze zu den Niederlanden passiert haben.
